Dealt with a situation in a manner that made me feel very unsafe and traumatised at a time when I was at my most vunerable. Did not follow GDPR confidentiality before asking for my address and intended to involve police without my knowledge and without any justification for their lack of transparency, which would have put me at increased risk. They ended the phone call after I expressed I was suicidal and lied and said I ended the call. Even if I had done, they didn’t even bother to ring me back or follow up, they also said that I didn’t say I was suicidal. I asked to listen to the call under a FOI - the call was 31 seconds shorter than my call log and there was parts of the conversation missing. They have failed to give a satisfactory reason for this and have refused to give more information and metadata regarding the call, despite asking for it 3 times under an SAR. It's completely shocking they would behave in this manner. This has now left me unable to trust DV services.

Appalling service, 5 months ago I needed help as I was in an mentally abusive marriage for the last 5 yrs of my 14 yr marriage, i called a help line who advised me to call 'Rise' I left a message, 4 days later I received a call from them, I told them my situation, they asked me what I'm looking for, I said support, someone e to talk to maybe in groups sessions, anything really to give me the strength to leave my awful cruel life, they seamed supportive over the phone and said they will be in touch to arrange support, 5 months later still nothing from 'Rise' they knew I was suicidal, in a very bad way, no one ever bothered getting back to me, that's how good this service is, COMPLETELY SHOCKING, I poured my heart out to someone on the phone, for what? I assumed they where a caring service, not at all, they need to totally reboot this service and get professionals in who care, luckily I had a supportive friend to get me out away from the mental abuse, I'm now in another city getting support from a service that cares about women who have suffered from abuse, I would never recommend Rise at all, close it down and start again with geniune caring advises...

tried to visit them today as experience domestic abuse (couldn't get through on phone) went to office as it said open til 12am but it was closed with outer gates locked. didn't want to give a star rating - just want them to answer why they're not open, and change they're opening times to stop people fleeing Domestic abuse from wasting their time?

Not very well organised with young staff obviously not trained properly. If your male and trying to support a female friend then be prepared for one particular member of staff that obviously has a deep seated hatred to males in general. Rude and combative and looking for a reason to find fault in any help you are trying to give. Completely the wrong attitude and trying coherce someone vulnerable into finding fault with the person who assisted and arranged the help in beginning. Not professional at all and should keep there personal views away from their work.

They are only interested in getting funding and looking like they help, they will tell you they will contact you when a space on their courses come up but they leave you hanging for years and don’t bother getting back to you. 2 referrals made over the last 4 years. You have my address if my number wasn’t working, no excuses.

Wonderful support for women at times when they really need it. Reception ladies very welcoming, great security, one-to-one counselling excellent and really positive group classes to build up abuse awareness & self-esteem. Legal appointments available but you will have to wait a few weeks and counselling wait about 8 months so not ideal if you are in the middle of a trauma. Classes have ongoing availability so no wait for these. The service overall plays a crucial role in society and probably saves lives.
