Dr Wendy Bourg present a good impression upon initial meeting. However, my experience was not positive. Wendy was easily influenced by any information fed to her at the last minute while writing the report. My ex successfully manipulated her to include hearsay (of false accusations of body shaming of our kids) which ended up being pervasive throughout the report. However, Wendy did NOT verify the accuracy of the information and did not ask our kids about it. In contrast, Wendy did not include that my ex had failed to get the kids to school 30% of the time during her parenting time. I had to push to correct the issue for 4 months wherein Wendy ended up issuing a correction, but it was too little too late and the damage had already been done. Additionally Wendy was easily deceived by how my ex projected what direction she was going and did not evaluate real past behavior. For example, me ex refused to return to work for 6 years, including the previous 1.5 years while the divorce was proceeding, but then my ex make a token effort to get a job working less than 10 hours a week during the evaluation process. Once the evaluation process was over, my ex stopped working again. Wendy then fawned over how she was trying and making progress. However, in the evaluation, the inability of my ex to be able to support herself and subsequently be able to support our kids, was left out of the report. It was clear throughout the report that there was an underlying bias toward mothers in her recommendations. I have also heard this from others that have had to work with her in these cases. Sadly, I did not learn this until after the process had already started. If you end up with Wendy as a evaluator, you will have the most success with her if you do the following: #1 she won't do real work on your case until there is a looming deadline. It took from November 2021 until January 2023 to get my case completed. Her office stated to me that she wouldn't prioritize writing up our case until the month before the trial day. #2 is that since she won't work on it until right before, I recommend flooding her with all your key messages and points right before she rights it up. I was appalled to see critical things (like school attendance, lack of self sufficiency, and emotional manipulation of the kids) were left off because we had reviewed it 6 months prior to the write up. And since the write up was not done until a few days prior to trial, there was literally nothing I could do to get it corrected. For all you Father's out there, I don't recommend working with Wendy.

Make sure you record everything this woman says. Also tell her the first meeting that you would like to do so. Tell the judge the same. Judges will respect her just because she has a PHD. Please read all reviews on her and do research before getting involved with this woman. It will take her months to start and her process takes over a year from that date. She will empty your pockets and if you're not paying for her services you will at the end of her 250 page report. I feel sorry for every kid stuck in her evaluations.
