Alix is amazing!! She was able to assess what’s going on with my body just by looking at me. She’s super empathetic and knowledgeable — I’m so grateful I found her to help me with my recovery from pregnancy and healing from my C-section.
Dr. Alix is one of the most knowledgeable PTs I’ve worked with, especially around teaching the body how to sequence movement to improve joint mechanics and overall wellbeing through movement. Her skills with Pilates-based rehab are unmatched, and she brings an extra level of wisdom with her manual therapy skills. 10/10 would recommend.
I am a 56 year old athlete who still plays competitive sports and has had some nagging injuries that have persisted through many years and many physical therapists, Alix Sklarew at Centered Health Physical Therapy is the one who finally got me healthy and I am eternally grateful for her ability to recognize and help me fix the problem.
Dr. Alix is truly all I've been looking for in a physical therapist. She is incredibly perceptive, communicative, and patient while I embark on my journey towards systemic healing from my chronic pain. I walk away from each session with new things to try at home and an understanding of what is happening in my body. I appreciate the emphasis she puts on learning and there is no question too dumb or silly for her to answer. 10/10 recommend.
I started seeing Alix last year due to a lower back injury. She was kind, knowledgeable and quickly figured out a way to work with me that reduced the pain. I'm back again, this time with a pinched nerve and again, within two sessions I'm feeling 100% better. Alix has a gentle way of working that is effective and soothing. I highly recommend her to everyone!
Alix is an *incredible* physical therapist. As somebody who’s had many, certainly one of the best in Portland. Her in-depth knowledge, expertise, and attentiveness to patients needs is unmatched. If you’ve experienced standard physical therapy, this is different. Her knowledge of the systems of the body and how injuries impact and/or derive from other functional areas makes you feel standard physical therapy clinics are wholly inadequate to the point of being a joke. Alix can’t be recommended enough.
Alix is the absolute best PT I have seen and I have seen many. She is charming, astute, and has an incredible wealth of techniques to help address pain and wonky body mechanics. She is adept at assessing the source of the problem and choosing the right approach. Highly recommend.
Alix is brilliant! I am finally able to do the exercises I want without pain. She figured out the cause of the pain, explained what was happening, gave me practical ways to change what I was doing, and now I am finally better and able to exercise pain free! Highly highly recommend!
After a few sports-related injuries, I’ve seen my fair share of physical therapists—Alix is hands down my favorite! She doesn’t just treat the symptoms; she looks at the bigger picture. She understands how everything in the body is connected, and her treatments reflect that. She completely healed a foot injury I’d been dealing with for years. She’s even helped me with things I didn’t expect, like digestion and circulation. Beyond her expertise, Alix is just great to work with. She truly listens, cares, and invests in your well-being. Even when I slacked on my at-home exercises, she never made me feel guilty—just supported. That kind of trust and openness is so important when it comes to your care team. I always feel like we have an open and collaborative approach to coming up with treatment plans.
