Amalia has a nuanced understanding of equity and intersectionality, and her deeply-held social-justice values suffuse her work. Her empathy, knowledge, and experience make her a very effective clinician.

I've been working with Amalia twice a week since early April. Since then my life has been completely changed for the better. I've had a few other therapists on my journey, but let me tell you...I have never, EVER worked with someone who is as personally invested in my mental health recovery like Amalia. In every meeting Amalia is genuinely caring and personally attends to my needs. We have a strong relationship where I feel seen, heard and valued not only as a client, but as a human being! In many ways it feels like we have known each other for years, and that is due how seriously she takes her role as a therapist. I have so much respect for this woman, it is astounding. If you are willing to show up and put in the work to move forward in your life, I will recommend Amalia 100 times over.

Serenity Counseling with Amalia has truly provided the best experience on my life long journey of self love and personal growth. As a queer woman of color, I appreciate how she not only listens but genuinely sees me and supports every facet of my identity. She’s helped me understand myself better, has taught me to replace old coping mechanisms that were no longer serving me, and has met me where I am along the way. I would definitely recommend having Amalia in your corner, especially for women of color seeking a safe space to be themselves.

Working with Amalia on my therapy journey has been wonderful. She is an excellent listener who provides helpful, clinical support without being pushy. I recommend her to anyone looking for support and especially to women of color.
