I had the first professional massage of my not-so-short life with Ro of Rooted Spirit Somatics recently and want to testify to what a delightful experience it was. Ro was perfect—taking a moment at the beginning to explain her plans for our hour together and offering me a chance to modify. Among the offerings was a heated table, and a loose garment that would allow for a full back, neck and limb work-over, with other covers as needed. My face rested on a cushioned, ring-shaped cradle that left my neck and shoulder muscles in a neutral position accessible for the probing and loosening that constituted the “body work” Ro would perform. And work it surely was. Ro’s strong hands and forearms found taut muscles wherever they were, and gently but firmly persuaded them to loosen up, to relax. (When I asked, Ro told me that people fell asleep under her ministrations all the time.) She worked the mobile muscles of four limbs and digits, but also the more troublesome core, with muscles that often move little in the day-to-day and sometimes freeze in discomfort. The finale on the face and chest were hot compresses—a coup de grace. Ro was a wonderful ambassador for the practice of massage—skilled, sensitive, strong, and direct. I discovered that my looseness lasted into the following day. Like many of us, I suspect, I often take my body for granted. Ro gave it a skillful tune-up. She showed me the way it might feel if I more regularly paid it the attention it surely deserves.
Ro is truly great at what they do! The attentive, careful bodywork they tailor provides so much physical & pain relief- I have a few injuries and ailments, and Ro always makes sure to check in and communicate about process and therapies! Highly recommend!!!!
I had a wonderful experience with Ro. They were kind, attentive, and communicative throughout my 90 min appointment. And, they are incredibly gifted at their craft. Highly recommend, and I'll absolutely return.
My recommendation? Try a Craniosacral session with Ro! I had a fantastic experience. Their space inside the Be Abundant collective is welcoming, accommodating and relaxing. Ro’s energy as a bodyworker is eminently grounding- it’s easy to tell that they’re genuinely invested in what they do. The session I’m writing about was great. They invited feedback and collaboration throughout the session, and simply did some lovely work. Next day and I’m still feeling so much more connected to myself and grounded in my body.
Amazing experience with Ro, who was kind, careful and attentive during the entirety of my 90 min appt. I was able to take advantage of the new client discount available at the time, but definitely plan on trying their membership option. I feel absolutely renewed after my session. The space was clean, relaxing and I also appreciate that the space they work out has a covid-conscious masking policy. Highly recommended!!
My experience with Ro was incredible. As someone who deals with a lot of chronic pain, I left feeling better than I have in months. The techniques they used felt physically supportive and also created a safe space for communicating my needs and hopes for healing. I have had a lot of bodywork in my life, but this went beyond anything else I have experienced. I highly recommend Roand am already excited to go back!
I had a lovely experience with Ro. She made me feel comfortable immediately, and she was professional and asked the right questions. She gave an excellent massage and checked for my comfort throughout. I would definitely work with her again!
Ro is pure healing magick! I’ve been working with them regularly for a year, and my mom, husband, and daughter have all been in for massages as well. Ro introduced me to cupping (amazing!), and also uses warm towels, which are a lovely treat I didn’t know I needed in my life! The space is cozy and calm - the lighting, music, and plants - and the larger table is very comfortable. Beautifully intuitive, Ro creates a safe compassionate space where I feel held regardless of what I’m bringing with me to the table that day. No matter what state I arrive in, I always leave feeling lighter and more grounded and peaceful. I recommend Ro to everyone!
The best massage I have ever had. Always checks in with me on how my body feels and where it needs attention. They customize each of my massages to best fit what needs the most work and I always leave feeling so relaxed.
Ro is a phenomenal practicioner who immediately puts you at ease. I have had several cranial sacral sessions with Ro as well as a customized massage and left each session feeling like I had just taken 1000 naps, more grounded and rested. Ro truly makes you feel held and safe. Cannot recommend enough!
