Never had PT work before, was a little nervous going into it but everyone (Alex, Elizabeth and Abigail) were all so friendly, professional and knowledgeable that it immediately put me at ease. Looking forward to working more with you guys in the future, thanks to you all for your help and for helping me feel comfortable!
I came to Root & Branch PT after I hurt my hip, Dr. Alex was very knowledgeable and explained the ‘why’ behind every exercise. I am leaving in less pain with tools to help me going forward. I highly recommend!
Absolutely incredible experience with this lovely group. Abigail worked so diligently with me to get me in for care after surgery and helped me navigate insurance, making sure I was covered. Everyone’s positive and open attitude made me feel comfortable right away at my first session. Dr. Alex and Nikki’s holistic approach with a focus on education/client autonomy and engagement has been wonderful. Not only are they knowledgeable, effective, gentle, and welcoming, they helped me feel empowered in my recovery.
I had called to enquire about their physical therapy program and to check whether they take worker's compensation. The lady on the phone assured me that they do take worker's comp, I had told her about my plan. Got a referral from my doctor and now they're saying that they don't take my worker's comp. I wasted a doctor's visit because of their inability to communicate something as simple as the kind of insurance they accept. Have to change my treatment plan. Dealing with insurance is hard as it is, leave it to places like this that go the extra mile and make it even worse.
Great physical therapy! Alex is thorough, knowledgable and kind. I had measurable improvement in my neck pain early on. The exercises were easy to do and effective. Would highly recommend!
If you found this, look no further for a physical therapist. Just book the appointment and you'll be grateful for the exceptional care you receive. I serendipitously found a flyer for Root and Branch at a local running store and easily booked my initial appointment online. At the time, I had chronic pain in my neck, shoulders, elbow, and knee and thought I'd need a separate PT for each of the issues. Not the case, Alex was able to address the complete list of ailments and finally able to resolve my severe neck pain that another PT was unable to comprehensively address. What I liked best, is the personalized attention and approach during the appointments. Rather than being passed off to a tech, we focused on mastering 1-2 exercises that I could then confidentially repeat at home. The human experience is one where you want to feel cared and that's how I felt at Root and Branch. They were an important part of an overall mind and body healing journey.
It is not an exaggeration to say that Root & Branch has changed my life. I started doing physical therapy with Dr. Alex a few years ago to address shoulder and back pain from sitting at a desk all day. I started feeling better right away with about 10-15 mins a day of reasonable exercises I could do at home. After a few months the pain I had been dealing with for 10 years was pretty much all gone. Once I built up some strength I was able to start also working with Gina and her team on the fitness side. Gina is experienced, trauma informed, form and function based, and collaborates with Dr. Alex to create a custom, ever changing program for your specific body and goals. One of the trainers, Colin, even created a program to help me feel less pain when I was gardening, one of my favorite hobbies. The space is weight neutral, body affirming, and supportive. There is no one yelling at you to "push through it" or "feel the burn". I am stronger than I have ever been, and feeling great!
This is the best physical therapy experience I've ever had. Dr. Alex approaches the body as a complete system, linking all the aches and pains you have and targeting the source of them so you can heal for good. He was very thorough, answered all my questions and is clear about treatment plans. I've dealt with chronic jaw, neck and back pain most of my life and this is the first time I've felt that it's actually being corrected not just temporarily relieved. I can't recommend Dr. Alex and the team at Root and Branch enough!!
Alex's approach to treatment is far beyond treating symptoms. He strives to find the "why" and how injuries can be prevented. Alex has excellent knowledge of human movement and functionality and his holistic approach creates a healthy and deep rooted recovery. After seeing Alex, I not only feel I was provided honest and intelligent treatment, but I feel more aware of my own movements and body awareness to prevent future injuries. I highly recommend Alex.
I highly recommend Root & Branch for anyone looking for a holistic approach to their pain. He was able to address both my neck and knee pain by focusing on exercises for my entire body and educating me about how they could be related. Alex didn't hesitate to spend extra time with me (up to 90 minutes!) to make sure that I was feeling better, doing my exercises correctly, and that I understood my injury. And even though my insurance (Moda) was out of network, he was willing to work with me to make my treatment affordable. I've already sent my mom, sister, and cousin to go see Alex at Root & Branch!
