The providers are kind but there is very little availability for appointments for existing patients. I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant and was told by the midwife to schedule an anatomy scan in two weeks, but they don’t have availability for over a month. Why did they accept me as a patient, knowing I am pregnant and how far along I am? Do they think my baby will wait until they have time for me? Disappointed.

Our midwifery care was incredible. We met about half of the midwives from first visit to birth and they are all so invested in caring for mama and baby, while making my husband feel included and informed. Their students are very talented. Front desk staff are so nice and made scheduling appointments very smooth. Our birthing experience was incredible. L&D nurses made the experience fabulous. Mackenzie, Karen and Jordan were so supportive and knowledgeable. So grateful to have been in their care during such a special time in life, thank you OHSU!

Unpleasant experience and can't wait to be free of them for good in a couple weeks. They never told me I was supposed to wear a binder after my csection and my friend told me about 2 weeks later about it. And they sent me home 1-1/2 days after my csection... The staff also harass me about my some of my medical stuff. For some people and their issues, they might be good, but I would NEVER recommend the labor and delivery unit to ANYONE. The lack of caring attitude and overall care, and just general stuff is tacky and not ok.

While I have had my fair share of doctors/residents who DIDNT listen to me at OHSU. I still trust OHSU. I thankfully was seen by Dr Amy K and Dr Emily G who has really helped me. Thanks to them I met Dr Jacky, Dr Valerie, and Dr Nylah who are now treating me for my PTSD and vaginismus. I feel valued and heard. Yes the phone calls can take a moment it’s worth it! After so many years of pain I finally got the answers to my pain and can now finally get treated.

Great nurses, great doctors, great surgery and overall a good experience with one caveat: waiting on hold 6 times to get a hold of someone to give a fax number to a lab (as they requested) so we can get lab results is simply unacceptable. It felt like waiting to get teeth pulled. Short staffing is an issue in all healthcare systems right now and its getting worse. The feedback is this: when people call, immediately help them, take the notes, the numbers as fast as possible so the people who need immediate assistance without having go back to the hospital can be heard from immediately.

Don’t go here if you can help it. I want to start by saying that the doctors at this hospital were absolutely incredible, professional, compassionate, and skilled. I am deeply grateful for their care during my delivery. Unfortunately, the postpartum nursing care was a very different experience. While there were a few kind nurses, the majority were dismissive or inattentive, and we heard MANY of them gossiping about other women there, and one in particular, a morning nurse named Michelle, was especially awful. Michelle fat-shamed me after I had just undergone a c-section and endured a pregnancy that required bed rest. She made a humiliating “joke” about my weight to a relative of mine, ignored requests for help getting to the bathroom, delayed my pain medication by hours multiple times, and left me to fend for myself when I was supposed to be monitored. After falling trying to get to the bathroom on my own, she even tried to lie about asking me to track my urine. Right in front of the practitioner watching her. The final straw came when she made cruel comments about my dinner and my weight, while my husband and I were trying to have one small moment of comfort after an incredibly difficult journey. We lost a baby at this same hospital in 2024, and returning for the birth of our next child was already emotionally complex. To be treated like this during what should have been a redemptive and healing moment was devastating. We reported Michelle to the charge nurse before leaving but no one ever followed up with us. While I truly respect and admire the doctors at this hospital, the lack of accountability for the nursing staff, especially when it comes to basic compassion and professionalism has left me unwilling to return for postpartum care. I hope leadership takes this seriously. No one deserves to be treated the way I was. I also want to highlight the nurses in NICU, who had tape wrapped around my daughter’s hand so tightly it was cutting circulation and my mother stepped in to force them to fix it. These nurses have a hard job, but they also gossip in front of families and parents there who are worried and scared for their babies I absolutely couldn’t believe it. What a nightmare it all was.

Showed up 15 min early to be roomed for my last ultrasound at 33 weeks pregnant, my ultrasound was done in 20 minutes when my appointment was supposed to be one hour. I got terrible photos of my baby and when asked to get better photos they told me to bad, Antonio Frias the attending physician did not have good bedside manner or even try to make it right. I was also told they wouldn't even try to do the 3D image on my child when I specifically asked to have that done and called days prior to ensure this would get done at my appointment. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the rushed level of care I received at my appointment today. Do better and make people feel safe and heard. I am a healthcare provider myself and this care is completely unacceptable.

Dr. Chicowski is amazing! She listened and helped so much after the last urologist said no one would want to forward on any treatments for my bladder condition because I am in my 20s and too young. so I got a referral here for a second opinion and not once was my age an issue. She laid out the treatments options and then we decided on the best one. I have had 4 surgeries with her and her fellows at the time of surgery so far and I always feel like I’m in great hands!

While the doctor was fine, I just can't take the wait times anymore. Not to mention waiting over 30min on the phone but also to just be seen. I called to schedule for something that was out of the realm for my primary and told over 3 months wait even as an established patient which I also had to wait 4 months for my initial visit. For urgent matters this is not acceptable especially for women’s health. I also asked to be contacted and speak with someone about this but was never reached out to. If you cannot handle your case load stop accepting more patients. They also need to work on customer service etiquette and common empathy.

My experience with my doctor O’Reilly has been great. The med assistant is always so nice and attentive, and even though it’s a longer drive from where I live, definitely worth it. Glad I’m a patient here now
