I had a truly beautiful experience with David Kilmurray. From the moment I arrived, he was warm, welcoming. David delivered a deeply professional and uplifting hypnotherapy session that felt both safe and expansive. He is not conventional and that is exactly what sets him apart. His creative approach and unique flair bring a sense of magic into his work, making the experience feel alive rather than clinical. There is a genuine sincerity in how David works; you can feel that he truly cares. You can’t help but leave the session feeling lighter, brighter, and more aligned. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Sarahzebz
David was an absolute rock for me during one of the most horrific periods of my life — an ordeal that was highly public and widely reported in the press. What set David apart was his solution-focused, forward-thinking approach, which was both refreshing and empowering. Unlike many domestic abuse services that centre primarily on revisiting what has already happened — something I personally do not find helpful — David’s work is grounded in moving forward, rebuilding, and regaining agency. That mindset was exactly what I needed to recover and to function again. David also worked with members of my family, consistently going above and beyond what would ever be expected. His commitment, insight, and genuine care extended well beyond scheduled sessions, and his support had a lasting impact not just on me, but on those around me. I would highly commend David’s work and unreservedly recommend his services to anyone seeking practical, compassionate, and future-focused support. David’s approach and the impact of his work are also referenced in my book, Mind Over Manipulators, which documents evidence-based, recovery-focused pathways following trauma. Further context on recovery-focused approaches can be found in my book Mind Over Manipulators. Available on Amazon
It has been a special journey for joe since meeting with David for the first time - trust has been cemented between both of them and the bond they share is so lovely to watch, I have really enjoyed learning myself about ARFID - and in such a short space of time joe has made tremendous progress. Can’t believe joe is eating so many different foods and I am so thankful for your help and support with our son.
David has been really good with helping me with some of my issues and also my son’s ARFID. I would highly recommend his services.
Working with David has been truly life-changing. From our very first session, his warmth, positive energy, and incredible professionalism made me feel completely safe, supported, and understood — even during some of my lowest moments. He guided me through deep grief with compassion and care, while also helping me rebuild a healthier, more connected relationship with food in a way that felt gentle, empowering, and sustainable. David strikes the perfect balance between being highly professional and wonderfully uplifting. He is thoughtful, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable, yet brings such an encouraging and motivating presence to every session. Even when we were working through heavy emotions, he had a way of helping me feel hopeful, grounded, and genuinely excited about my progress. I always left our sessions feeling lighter, stronger, and more in tune with myself. If you’re looking for a life coach/therapist who is professional, compassionate, and truly transformational — especially during difficult seasons — I can’t recommend David highly enough. He is absolutely outstanding. ✨
David is the most genuine gorgeous man on earth! To say he overcame my anxiety and helped to make me feel better about myself is an understatement. He is a wonderful character, just the right balance of professional, fun & empathy. I had an operation due I was terrified for, I walked in to hospital with confidence and calm, guided by his knowledge of distraction and trusting the process, something I thought I’d never achieve. I have personally recommended him on many occasions and he has been a great person for them too! Love his little trinket box of a therapy room he has created don’t hesitate if you want to live in a better mindset!!!!
David is an absolute legend I found David as a friend sent me a newspaper article of how he had helped another little girl with ARFID. My daughter is 9 and had struggled to eat since she was a baby, she refused medication when she was poorly and became extremely ill at 6 when she caught strep A and didn’t eat a single thing for 8 days. My daughter wouldn’t eat in front of others and only had a list of up to 5 same foods. When we met David, he was amazing with my daughter and me from the off! Very reassuring, gave me advice in between sessions. Within a short period of time, my daughter has gone up to a list of 20 foods, she’s learnt to swallow tablets, getting us out of the “child at high risk” area as if she becomes ill again, she will take the medication. My daughter thinks so highly of David and still listens to his hp3 hypnosis every night. I literally can’t thank David enough, he has literally changed our lives for the better! And now she is taking vitamins and eating better, has made a significant improvement to my daughter’s whole life, her health and wellbeing. She is a going on a trip next week with brownies with a lunch box for the first time ❤️ if you want to check out her progress see my page arfid_pfd_ourstory
I have had the pleasure of having support to support my daughters RFID he was amazing with her to the point that she knew she was going to face her biggest fear FOOD and was goingbto be trying all kind of things from sprouts to noodles baked beans but she absolutely loved going blew my mind !!! David is nothing short of magical ✨️ and honestly never met anyone who cares so much about what he does
Before we found David at The Kilmurry Life Centre, my son was really struggling — emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, and extremely limited in what he felt comfortable eating. It felt like every day was a battle, and we didn’t know how to help him move forward. But everything changed when we started working with David. From the very first session, David created a calm, safe space where my son felt seen, understood, and supported. He formed a bond with him that was genuine and kind, and that trust became the foundation for the incredible progress we’ve seen. Not only has my son become more emotionally resilient and better at managing his feelings, but he’s also now open to trying new foods — something we never thought possible. Mealtimes are no longer a source of stress. He’s become more confident, more positive, and more in control of his reactions and choices. David has helped unlock a version of my son that we always knew was there — one that’s more relaxed, more curious, and finally able to enjoy life the way a 9-year-old should. The impact on our entire family has been profound. I can’t recommend The Kilmurry Life Centre highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands how to bring out the best in children, David is that person. We are endlessly grateful.
David - what a hero! I spent years searching for the right treatment and getting nowhere. It wasn’t until I turned to private treatment & found David, that my journey to recovery has finally begun. When I first sought help for my health issues, I trusted the NHS to guide me through what I assumed would be a straightforward process of diagnosis & recovery. But what began as a search for answers soon spiraled into a series of missteps and misunderstandings that left me physically & mentally broken. Passed around different departments , I received conflicting advice and was misdiagnosed multiple times - leaving me trapped in a perpetual cycle of confusion, fear and anxiety. Unable to find the support I needed, my health continued to deteriorate and I was signed off work for six months, at a life threatening low weight and battling severe anxiety and stress. I was referred to an eating disorder unit, where I was boxed into the label of ‘anorexia’ - a condition far removed from my actual issues. Treatment was one-size-fits-all treatment and completely wrong for my situation, making matters even worse. This fundamental misunderstanding left me feeling isolated, invalidated, and like I was failing every week when no progress was made. The treatment plan lacked nuance and didn’t provide therapy or practical tools for improvement. Instead, I faced judgment, threats of hospitalisation, and no actionable support. Admitting my case was too ‘risky’ for them to handle, they resorted to hospitalisation—a step I knew would only worsen my food-related fears and mental health issues. Recognising this would be wrong for me, they initiated a mental health assessment to detain me against my will. This was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. With an existing phobia of hospitals, following a traumatic experience involving complications & a blood transfusion growing up, the prospect of being forced into this environment petrified me. I felt powerless, and my family was left scrambling for alternatives. That’s when we found David - who within days had taken me under his wing. Having been let down so many times before, we were hesitant to seek private care and skeptical about therapy after so many failed attempts. But from the moment David responded to our inquiry, everything felt different. He was professional yet compassionate, and his genuine concern for my wellbeing shone through from our very first conversation. For the first time in years, I felt seen, understood, and supported. He is so positive and encouraging, and his approach is filled with techniques and tools that are completely personalized. He’s helping me regain control, relax, and make meaningful changes at a pace that works for me. David listens intently, adapts to my individual needs, and creates an environment where I feel safe to explore and grow. (And not to mention he’s bloody hilarious!) after just a few sessions, my mindset had shifted and I’m already able to eat more freely than I have in years. It’s a long journey, but for the first time in five years of suffering, I’m finally on the road to recovery and can see myself coming back every day. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for David’s constant care and encouragement. He’s not just a therapist— he’s a partner & a real friend. I would recommend him to anyone feeling misunderstood or looking to gain back control of their life and take steps toward a healthier, happier future.
