After needing to re-submit my availability for the matching process (because I was not made aware in my intake appointment that the first two session were remote no matter what) I've now been in limbo (aka unmatched) for 2+ weeks with no communication from Two Chairs. I'm grateful to have been proactively seeking out care (versus in a crisis situation) as I can't imagine this radio silence would be helpful when having a truly hard time. I'm honestly appalled at the low quality of customer service here.
This was my first time seeking out services; I experienced two unexpected deaths of close family members within two months; I really appreciate John Michael for lending a listening ear and allowing me to vent; he helped me develop tools to deal with the grief and the mourning; though I feel I am much better now, I know I can reach out to him again should i need to. Thank you buddy!
My experience with Two Chairs was life-changing. My therapist, Jen Munyer, was the perfect match for me. She was able to guide me through the worst of my anxiety and down a path of deep inner work and discovery - a journey that has positively impacted my life in every respect. I'm feeling better, lighter, and my thoughts are more positive. I'm able to navigate my (still very full and "stressful") life with renewed gentle strength, grace, and gratitude. Two Chairs is a wonderful and effective company that listens to their clients' preferences. I highly recommend them!* *The only thing I would change is the ability to see therapists for maintenance care, perhaps on a monthly basis. I think this would be very beneficial for recovering patients.
I was referred to Two Chairs through Kaiser and I really can't say enough good about them. I'm a pretty tough customer when it comes to mental health counseling because I've done a lot of it in the past and whether it's helpful and effective is all about whether there is a good therapist match. That is one area where Two Chairs really excels. They take the time on the front end to make sure there is a clear understanding of the client's needs and use that information to make an appropriate match. I can honestly say that I have never seen so much impact so quickly as I have since I began working with my Two Chairs therapist. She is a really good fit for the work I need to do and has been extremely helpful in guiding me in my process.
I had a general positive experience with my therapists but over time the quality of care decreased significantly. I learned the hard way if you give honest but negative feedback on the surveys that you’re not getting the help that you need that your therapist will twist information against you to try and hurt you. I was blown away by the behavior and we never had a session after that. Highly recommend not booking.
This review is well overdue. I really enjoyed my time with my therapist, Tetana, from Two Chairs. The matching was quick and on par with my requests in my therapist, and she helped me out of a dark place in my life with individualized care and considerable compassion. I was provided with coping tools and confidence that I will use the rest of my lifetime. I do sometimes wish I hadn’t graduated from care when I did, because the support was fantastic, but I know I left with so many great tips and knowledge to help me move forward. The way they monitor progress by weekly check ins was easy to understand when reviewed and it was awesome to see their progress charts. I appreciated the ease and comfort of virtual sessions. I would recommend anyone struggling or needing extra support to Two Chairs. Thank you!
Never, ever again will I be using Two Chairs services nor recommending them to friends, family, etc. The doctors themselves are wonderful when I used their service, that's not the issue. My issue is regarding their billing and customer service team. My last appointment was in August of 2024. In April of 2025, 8 months after I last used their services, I received and email telling me they are going to be billing me for 4 appointments of $136 each, with up to $500 a week being taken from my account. When I asked for clarity on why I was still being charged I was not provided with any reasonable explanation. In that same first email they also said I could set up a payment plan to cover the insufficient funds. I emailed them almost a week ago, no response, and I have been billed already for two of those appointments after being ignored by their team, sending me into a low balanced with bills due in the middle of a pay period. Their billing and customer service team is unresponsive and full of fake niceties. Go somewhere else for the care as a patient you deserve.
Kaiser partners with Two Chairs for mental health services. They referred me to Two Chairs when requesting virtual therapy. The process of matching with a therapist includes an initial consultation based on your needs. Then, you get assigned a therapist, who you meet either weekly or biweekly. They don't allow sessions any longer than that. Be aware that they charge a fee if you miss or fail to notify them about canceling within a certain time frame before the session. Overall, I liked my therapist, though I ended up stopping therapy because I did not feel I was getting much benefit from the sessions towards the end given the situation that I was dealing with. The therapist will also push you towards graduating (aka ending) therapy after a certain time depending on your progress, given the demand for mental health services. To get the most out of the sessions, I would really be explicit of what you are looking for. If the therapist is not a good fit for you, do not hesitate to reach out to Two Chairs to rematch.
I love Two Chairs. The therapist I was matched with is perfect for me. Started out treating severe depression, anxiety, and now Palliative care for terminal cancer. Through it all my therapist has been my light every week; pivoting with every new challenge. The help with depression and anxiety was extremely helpful as I worked towards my goal. Ask you provider to recommend Two Chairs for mental health counseling, you won't regret it.
I have tried therapy multiple times in the past but always felt that I chose the wrong therapist. Probably because I simply went to someone who was in my insurance network. Two Chairs is different. The process of matching me to the perfect therapist was organized, thorough, and seamless; and I love the online convenience they offer! Ellen has been a gift and I am eternally grateful I was matched to her. I feel understood and I am continually given the tools to help me navigate to become the person I am meant to be. My life has changed for the better because of Ellen. Thank you Ellen and thank you Two Chairs.
