Shelterwood Collective, thank you for your warm healing space! I started seeing Linda Brethorst through the sustainable therapy program in February of 2024. Part of being in the program means that you get care at an extremely accessible rate & that it’s a weekly visit. I saw Linda weekly for 5 months & I can’t believe the change that I’ve felt in my mind & body. I forgot how good it feels to be in-person talking and processing the craziness of life. The space at Shelterwood is so comfy & relaxing, I love that they always have hot tea waiting for you! They also have a deck from Wild Unknown sitting out in the waiting room, I love picking a card after my session to carry that archetype with me for the rest of the week! My partner & I also started seeing Leslie Jensen for couples therapy in-person & we’ve really enjoyed working with her! Nicole, you’ve created such an amazing place! Thank you so much for all the work you do here :) I also love the book club events! I’m so grateful to have found this place in Seattle!

Avoid this place at all costs. Bait and switch insurance tactics. After they collect your money they do not respond. 8 calls from my insurance later no response. Shady business stay away.

Shelterwood Collective is warm, inviting, and restful. They have a large group of thoughtful and caring therapists with a variety of backgrounds that can align to you. I have been regularly visiting here for the last three years and now have several of people in my circle going here as well. Can’t recommend them enough!

Bethanne is seriously the best therapist. I felt really heard and seen by her. She helped me navigate some very painful issues that were coming up for me around relationship and my place in the work. I am so great full to have found her. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is ready to do some serious self reflection and do the hard work of transformation. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide for that journey.

I started coming to Shelterwood Collective for in person life coaching sessions with Jenna Starkey, and I absolutely adore the space! Both the waiting room and the office I frequent are not only stylish, but also incredibly inviting. I truly believe that this attention to detail lends to creating a safe space for clients to open up even more as it feels less clinical/sterile and more like being in a warm and friendly home. The energy of the people I’ve interacted with while there has definitely matched that same inviting feeling which is why I’ll continue to frequent their establishment! Thank you for all that you do!

I had a really bad experience with one of the owners here, Bethanne Kinmonth. I sought counseling from her after a really painful event in my life. While I’m sure she had good intentions, in multiple sessions she generally came across as self-absorbed, dismissive, and overly emotionally affected by the issues I was sharing—at one point she was the one upset and I apologized for my issues. She would routinely interrupt me and I often had to remind her of things I talked about it previous sessions. She definitely did not seem like a “psychotherapist with advanced training in the impact and healing of trauma,” as her website advertises (and as was the reason I’d contacted her). The whole experience was really disorienting and left me confused. I’ve thought hard about sharing this personal, subjective experience so publicly but I’d hate for someone to approach Bethanne in serious need and receive similar treatment. This place has a hipster name and branding with effective marketing but offers zero substance or authenticity. I would dissuade anyone from coming here.
