My spouse and I came upon PowerfuLove at a critical juncture in our marriage. We were both hurt, angry, and stuck at a standstill. We were currently trying to navigate through things with little success. After learning about the program, we both decided we were up for the journey of individual and collective reflection, and willing to commit all that we could to give us the best chance at saving our marriage. We worked with Jeni and Calvin weekly for six months. Their program really emphasizes personal accountability and understanding how your own thinking and behaviors are preventing you from moving forward in positive ways. This was important for us because we were both pointing fingers and it was getting us nowhere. The work I did through their program helped me offload a lot of weight that I had been carrying around for years that was impacting me and my relationship negatively. It helped me forgive others and forgive myself, which was critical to letting go of resentments that were only hurting me and sucking my joy. It helped my spouse to feel seen, loved, and safe again, re-tapping into their willingness to be vulnerable and forgiving. The things you learn in this program are applicable to relationships with anyone in your life, not just your spouse. The way I had been showing up as a parent was causing enormous strain in my relationship and household. The program helped me to find the strong, loving, and present caregiver in myself that I had lost sight of. It helped me to communicate differently with coworkers and friends. Their coaching model is unique and not something I had experienced before despite being in and out of therapy over the years. I can say with absolute certainty that my marriage would not be where it is today without the love and support from Jeni and Cal. They truly care about their clients and are committed to helping as many couples as possible. I am forever grateful to them.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Jeni!! I have done many years of therapy and have never felt like it helped me in any way. In fact, I had given up on getting help and advice from therapists because I felt like they just weren't effective. However, just recently I met Dr. Jeni on a social media site as she reached out to me when she saw my cry for help. Dr. Jeni is such a kind, caring and empathetic person. When she reached out to me, I could tell it was out of pure empathy and kindness, because it appeared she truly wanted to help me and with zero expectations including charging me a fee. She knew I needed someone to talk to right away and she genuinely wanted to help me!! When we talked via zoom, she listened intently to everything I needed to talk about first, then she was able to help me understand the things I needed so badly to understand but in a different way then any therapist has ever been able to do. Her words of advice regarding my personal/relationship issues were so incredibly informative and it helped me understand in a way that will help me get through what I am going through. She is not your typical therapist. She doesn't just sit there and listen to you without actually giving you tools to help you. Her techniques and tools coupled with her ideology of how to make a relationship succeed and how to better understand yourself and your spouse really helped me. She made me believe that I am a good wife and mom and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how bad things are. It has only been one day since we talked and I am already seeing changes. I am so indebted to Dr. Jeni and I look forward to continue to work with her. If you are considering finding someone to talk to regarding any relationship issues please reach out to her!! She is truly amazing!! Thank you so much Jeni!!
Jeni and Cal were instrumental in strengthening my relationship with my husband. Deeply appreciate their personal, attentive, and informative approach. I felt heard, seen, and supported.
It’s been over a year since my wife and I attended Jeni and Calvin’s workshop and we can attest to the incredible power of their program. What differentiates their program from others is the focus on learning as well a counselling – breaking years of old habits, tackling struggles head-on in our relationship. The focus is not just on talking about issues, but actively doing the work necessary to reset communication. We are forever grateful for their guidance!
Jeni and Cal are trailblazers in their approach to relationships. They have taken some of the most progressive philosophies on how to do relationships and brought them together in a way that just makes sense. Their approach is gentle and compassionate. Their methods are filled with so much knowledge and direction that it brings the truth of each special situation to light. There have been so many “ah ha” moments while talking with them. I always leave feeling hopeful and empowered to make positive changes in myself and my marriage.
