***I am posting anonymously (hence the fictional name).*** I worked with Ben for about 5 years. About two years ago I made decision to stop working with him after a series of no shows. What's prompted me to write something was that I sent him a very angry text, over the last time it happened. When I spoke to him to let him know I was no longer going to work with him he said "Therapists are people to, I was with a friend dying of cancer". While it very heartbreaking to hear; he missed the point that he has a responsibility and texting me that there was an emergency was all I needed. He also claimed I no showed on him which I never did. I always let him know I wasn't going to make the sessions well in advance. I have met with four different therapists since working with him; all of them agree what he did was unethical.
