At the beginning, I was afraid and skeptical. However, I always felt listened to and supported, and my progress speaks for itself; 5 months later and I am happy and I have control of my life again. I highly recommend!
I went through a very difficult period in my life and found the work here so supportive and helpful in guiding me back to a safer happier place. I had never 'done therapy' in my life but the work here was very much part of my recovery and I now view it as an invaluable part of the foundation, that lets me move on.
When I first reached out to The Walden Clinic, I was really struggling and going through one of the hardest times I had ever experienced in my life. I remember thinking at the time ‘How could anyone ever help me through this?’ But from the very first phone call, Aileen made me feel safe and supported. Over the past year, I worked with Aileen using EMDR therapy, and it has truly been life-changing. She has such a calm, reassuring presence and a way of guiding you through even the most difficult moments with compassion and care. The sessions helped me make sense of things I had carried for years and allowed me to finally let go of feelings that had been building up and weighing me down. Aileen also helped me create a future template to support myself in case any of those feelings resurface. It’s given me confidence, peace of mind and helped me realise that life is naturally full of ups and downs and that everyone could benefit from a little support at times. I now feel the best I’ve ever felt, stronger, calmer and truly proud of where I am today. It’s genuinely been the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, and I’ll always be grateful for Aileen’s kindness and professionalism. I would highly recommend The Walden Clinic to anyone who might be struggling or unsure where to turn - that first phone call was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. There is always hope, and help out there.
I honestly can’t thank Dr. Aileen enough. When I first started, I didn’t really think I would benefit this much, but our sessions have completely changed the way I see things. I have so much more clarity and a better outlook on life now. Every time I leave a session, I feel lighter, almost like I’m starting fresh again. She’s incredibly kind, patient, and really knows what she’s doing. Her advice always makes sense and actually works in real life. She’s professional, understanding, and genuinely cares. I’m really grateful for everything she’s helped me with.
I worked with Aileen for around two years and in that time she helped me solve so many issues I had and then worked with me on the mental health conditions I have that can’t be cured. She helped me identify what was wrong with me and help me feel more normal about it all. She helped me with developing not just one but many different coping strategies that I am still very much using 4 months on from my last session. She is very approachable and you really can tell her anything without any judgement. She properly listens to you and tries to get to the very bottom of a problem and will work with you to find you the very best solutions and coping strategies for you. She’s happy to adapt if things aren’t working and try and find different ways to help. She was a breath of fresh air for me I was scared to go back to therapy as I had a bad experience before (not with the Walden clinic) and I really don’t regret giving it another go. She’s a brilliant person and psychologist and I really do recommend her to others. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health.
I spent the last year working with Aileen from the Walden Clinic using EMDR therapy to resolve some experiences from my past. Aileen provided a friendly safe place where I felt comfortable to be open and honest about my feelings, her approach was flexible based on what was going on in my life. I finished therapy feeling much better and with tools to help prevent a relapse. I would highly recommend Aileen and the Walden Clinic.
I recently received treatment from Aileen at the Walden Clinic for anxiety, stress and depression. This was not my first experience with counselling. My first experience was with different practitioner, I got nothing from that experience. The treatment I received from Aileen was far superior. Aileen used Compassion Focused Therapy to help me understand how my life experiences have shaped my current behaviours. More importantly I am now equipped with the knowledge I need to frame my experiences in a more positive and constructive way. I would highly recommend Aileen and the Walden Clinic.
In my sessions with Aileen I laughed, cried, got angry, and often felt deeply uncomfortable — and that’s why I can’t recommend working with her highly enough. Using a Compassion Focused Therapy approach she encouraged me to become more aware of my feelings, and enabled me to become more compassionate towards others but, more importantly, to myself. She is attentive, organised, and yet flexible in the sessions and I always felt safe to speak honestly and openly. Aileen has a real understanding of how the brain, and indeed the body, works and can explain reactions and responses so clearly. I’ve worked with a few counsellors and clinical psychologists in the past but Aileen really helped me to understand myself better – and to like myself a little more. While I still need to keep working on issues, I’m more at peace with myself and my place in this world than I ever have been. I cannot thank her enough for that.
I would recommend the Walden Clinic to anyone in need of some help at a certain point of their life, or even just curious to better understand how mental processes, habits and behaviours work. I found a safe environment, where therapy was adapted to my needs. An enjoyable and useful experience.
Attending the Clinic at first wasn't a easy decision but Aileen was professional and warm for the whole experience and became a welcomed part of my week. She helped me get a better understanding of myself and from that I've made a lot of changes to my life for the better. Her knowledge in field is impressive, and explaining to me the psychology behind many of my own reactions or behaviours allowed me to dispel some of my own assumptions about myself. Worth it for sure, thanks Aileen :)
