I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Brown for several years. As a fellow therapist, I have consulted with him and seen firsthand the wealth of clinical skills and knowledge he brings to his work. Dr. Brown is thoughtful, empathetic, and profoundly self-aware. He cares deeply about his clients and prioritizes ethical decision making as a core foundation of his professional approach. I highly recommend working with him. Therapy Group of Charlotte as a whole also espouses these same values - they are driven to humanize the therapeutic experience and operate from a place of care and compassion.
I sought Mrs. Mary Johnson's help for therapy for my daughter and she was amazing. She was welcoming and accepting and instantly made my daughter feel comfortable. She has worked with her through many difficult life events and I would recommend her highly to anyone who is looking for a caring and knowledgable therapist for their child.
I sought Dr. Keeton's help when I was in need of grief counseling and developing new tools to cope with major life transitions. I specifically wanted a therapist with a Ph.D. and wide range of specialty areas. Dr. Keeton was a perfect fit. She followed a detailed intake process to best understand my needs and expectations for our sessions. I greatly appreciated this approach as well as her gentle questioning and unraveling of ideas to provide clarity in self-reflection and her practice of periodic check-ins to discuss any potential modifications to future sessions. I am so grateful to her for providing extremely knowledgeable, professional, caring, therapy during a very emotionally difficult time in my life. I left empowered with many new tools for staying emotionally centered and grounded in difficult situations and greater understanding of my own behaviors.
My wife and I worked with Paula for nearly a year to improve our communication and discuss some longstanding, deep-seated concerns we had been struggling to work through. Paula created a safe space for us to talk through issues, while gently guiding or nudging us toward a greater appreciation of one another's point of view. It truly helped, and we couldn't be more appreciative of the time and care Paula spent with us.
My first experience in therapy was with Dr. Keeton as my therapist. She was warm, caring, insightful, and I loved her use of humor (to this day, I laugh over a very accurate and hilarious observation she made). I actually asked to work with her after having met her in a different context - what I didn’t fully appreciate then, but recognize and am deeply grateful for now, is how thoughtfully she navigated that and how carefully she protected my confidentiality. She laid the foundation for so much positive change in my life - 11/10, recommend.
I’ve seen a multitude of mental health professionals throughout my life. While I only know Dr. Brown in non-clinical settings, I know that he has the skills, knowledge and values to be a truly excellent therapist. I’ve known Dr. Brown to be compassionate, thoughtful, appropriately humorous and non-judgemental (even in situations where I deserved to be judged a little). I’ve observed him approach difficult and complex situations with an air of thoughtfulness and humility - always transparent when he may not know the answer off hand. I would encourage anyone looking for a knowledgeable counselor to partner with them to improve their mental health to call Dr. Brown’s office. You may even end up finding a few laughs along the way.
Sebastiano Procopio is a wonderful therapist with a variety of clinical skills and strengths that he imparts to his clients. I recommend him to everyone looking for both brief, solutions focused therapy and longer process oriented work. He is both warm and professional.
I had the pleasure of being supervised by Dr. Thomas Lindquist while working toward my PsyD in Counseling Psychology. He is a kind, compassionate, knowledgeable clinician, and has been a wonderful mentor and role model to me so far in my career. I highly recommend working with Thomas! He takes a holistic approach to getting to know and understand his clients, and can help you meet the goals that you set for yourself in therapy.
Dr. Keeton is an excellent therapist to work with. Insightful, compassionate, and very empathetic. She helped me navigate a very difficult period at work with great understanding and very useful suggestions. I would highly recommend working with her.
