Poor experience. Not someone I would return to.

I’ve had awful experiences with psychiatrists in the past and was at first resistant to try again. From the very first contact with Dr. Lord, I could tell he was different and I was at ease with him. My experience with him has been nothing short of stellar. He’s attentive, responsive, genuinely cares about his patients, and he’s a wizard with figuring out what medications will be most beneficial for you without going through so much of the “trial and error” process I had experienced previously. I’m grateful to have found him and his knowledge and care.

Dr. Lord cancelled my appointment prior to me meeting with him for these reasons: 1) I emailed him requesting to meet via Zoom. 2) I found his email via google, which anyone could do, and he was absolutely appalled that I sent him an email asking if we could meet digitally. 3) He called me within the hour, and said he was cancelling our appointment, due to "red flags," from his end? Like, what?? All of your information is public knowledge? Get it together. Thanks,

He's been a doctor on call for me, and he's been incredibly caring trying to help me make it through. He has been a great Doctor.

It really does stink when a psychiatrist can’t figure you out because you have a complex medical history that they don’t understand. It also stinks when you have an undiagnosed *autoimmune disease* and struggling daily to get to appointments. What stinks the most is when Dr “Lord” decides that you’re missing appts because you’re looking for attention with all your physical symptoms. I could not physically get the therapy. I pushed myself and actually attending a behavior health program all day for 2weeks but since I had not gotten to any tx appts with Anne-Marie Cummings, I was considered truant. So glad that I moved on and I never want to see this man again. PS- I had hypothyroidism and freaking omicron. But that was just for the attention.

Dr. Lord is a very smart and knowledgeable psychiatrist, the best I have ever had. He is very careful to monitor blood levels and side effects and to stay current on all of non-psychiatric medical issues and medications to ensure there are no potential interactions. He works closely with my psychologist to ensure they are on the same page. They make a great team. He actively listens to feedback and encourages me to talk freely. He does not judge and truly wants to help. In times of crisis, he is right there protecting and defending me. He gets my buy-in before making any changes. It is easier to stick to the plan when involved in creating it and when I know my doctor trusts me. Dr. Lord genuinely cares about his patients and is committed to improving their lives.

I went to see doctor Lord last week looking for help with some behaviors and addiction I have been carrying on since a very young age. More than a few times I have tried to correct the issues on my own unsuccessfully. after sometime talking with him I felt he didn't care or wanted to deal with my particular case or simply didn't believe me because of my many years of practice not showing how broken up I am about my mental health. Maybe, if i ever try to sick professional help i can't forget to brake down in tears. After all was said, I mentioned i recently started seeing some sings that made me think there might ne a god after all (i have not been a spiritual person before) and from that point on he just wanted to treat me with the word of god and the holly spirit. even told me "out of all the doctors in the area i don't think it was a coincidence you came to see me" …really? don't get me wrong, it might be the only way and i have witnessed a few people completely change their lives for the best with the word of god alone. my only conflict with that is THAT MESSAGE IS FREE! the apostles didn't seat at home waiting on people that could afford to pay them to receive the message. they gave their lives to spread it. I went to see a psychiatrist paying the cost out of packet, not a preacher. if he want's to talk to me about god I am not paying for it. I told him I was there to see him as a doctor and he neglected to help me from a doctor's perspective. he agreed to see me again but only if I was willing to address my problems from a spiritual point of view to which i told him i wasn't interested.

Not only is Dr. Lord well-versed in psychopharmacology, he also possesses superb psychotherapy skills, a combination one does not find very often these days. He is also a board-certified Addiction Medicine specialist, which is very helpful given the high comorbidity of psych and addictive disorders. But I would highly recommend him whether or not one has an alcohol/other drug problem. He is one of the best psychiatrists I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
