I suffered an injury while playing Padel, I wrongly assumed I’d be fine and tried to play the following day but I literally couldn’t run at all. I was badgered to go to a well known local physio I’d used previously but they were fully booked. Started looking at reviews and who was local for me at work, I phoned the Movement Clinic and spoke to Kathryn who was absolutely brilliant. They had a cancellation and I met Ashleigh. She did various checks on my knee and explained I had damaged my meniscus. I’ve never heard of one and she explained what this crucial thing does. I was asked to do various things that painful and nigh on impossible to do for me. I was given a training programme of bespoke exercises and I was told I’d be off any court for at least 9 - 12 weeks. After my visit in my head I thought I’d be back on court for the game I’d booked for Saturday. My Thursday afternoon visits were brilliant as I was given new things to do and I knew I was getting stronger each week. Ashleigh let me use some laser light things to put on my knee that had to be used twice a day, despite me being sceptical I used them. Thanks to the excellent exercises and the laser things I’m going back on the Padel court after 6 weeks. I can’t thank Ashleigh enough for all of her help and advice. If you have any injury I’d them as they’ll have your back to normal in no time. Bob

It was so lovely to have Livi and Niamh in Dance City’s building as part of The Movement Clinic!! They were very helpful with identifying where my neck stiffness was coming from and gave me exercises that have helped massively! Such kind and welcoming people, that I can’t wait to see again when they come back to be the physios for CODA festival!

I am currently completing my physiotherapy placement at the Movement Clinic, which has been an incredibly valuable experience for my development. I have already learnt so much from John and Ashleigh, whose expert knowledge and skills in musculoskeletal physiotherapy have really helped develop my clinical reasoning and confidence. The Movement Clinic provides excellent care for its patients, taking the time to listen and deliver personalised treatment. I have also had the opportunity to strengthen my MSK clinical skills while working with the dancers at Dance City, which has been a fantastic learning experience. Overall, the guidance and support I have received from John and Ashleigh has been invaluable to my physiotherapy development. Thank you!

In a time when patients are often treated like numbers — especially when dealing with conditions that may not be life-threatening, yet deeply affect everyday life, work, family, and personal wellbeing, untill will become serius — TMC is exactly what a human being needs. Professionalism, knowledge, and experience are a given. But what truly makes the difference is the deep empathy for the individual, the tailored 360-degree programs built around the person, the time dedicated, and above all, real solutions combined with consistent support. I worked specifically with Ashley, and I genuinely struggle to put into words what this experience meant to me. She not only resolved my physical issues, but showed me what true support really looks like. What began as recovery became something more — it strengthened my resilience and changed the way I understand my own body. I had been dealing with back pain and inflammation for months before starting this journey, and I only wish I had done it sooner. Even in a last-minute emergency, TMC was there. They didn’t just help me recover quickly — they saved an important planned activity that meant a lot to me. By consistently following the exercises Ashley designed for me — even from a distance — I was able to return to my training pain-free. But more importantly, I became more mindful. I understand my body better. I feel stronger, more aware, and more in control. And I know they will be there if I ever need support again. If you think this kind of care is not that important, think again. Deep knowledge and professionalism do not have to be heartless, and they should never be only about money. TMC is my point of reference, and I would not change it for anything.

As a physio student on placement at the Movement Clinic, I have learned so much from John and Ashleigh. Their expertise in MSK physiotherapy and in dance populations, combined with the amazing facilities at Dance City, has given me invaluable hands-on experience. The patient-centred approach here is at the core of TMCN, and I am continuing to grow my skills and clinical confidence I’ll carry throughout my career. Thank you for an incredible placement experience so far!

A really caring and professional place, and an amazing little sanctuary in the middle of the city. Felt really comfortable, and the team really made sure I understood what was going on with my body, and why we were doing the treatments and exercises we were doing. Worth every penny! If only all healthcare experiences could be like this!

Great relaxed and clean environment. Ashleigh was very welcoming and knowledgable and listened to my areas of concern to give a great massage! Highly recommend to everyone, of all abilities!

Amazing service. John & Ashleigh both are approachable, helpful, and seem to genuinely care about getting the most out of our moving bodies. I saw John for physio. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and thorough. Less than a week out and I'm seeing improvement - the pain has eased to barely noticeable, and I'm already seeing improvement in muscle tone. Effective exercises. Clear and detailed plan. Unexpectedly though, I also came away from the session knowing more about my body, and with a much more positive relationship to it (specifically unstable/hypermobile shoulders that have always caused me a lot of frustration, pain, and limited my ability to train through particular ranges of motion). John reframed it not as broken but as misunderstood - ie, different bodies are uniquely adapted, and it's about learning how to work with your body's specific strengths/adaptations. I'm so excited to train those ranges of motion I thought were impossible for me. Definitely recommend! ~ Dawn @ ContactImprovNcl
