I participated in a super useful course regarding Mutual Aid groups via zoom with Dear Albert and also spent time in the building as part of my peer mentor course. They hold many useful groups there to aid recovery and there is lovely cafe that is run by friendly people where you can grab a coffee and have a chat if you so choose. If you are reading this because you are struggling with any addiction issues then popping into that cafe could be a gentle first step for you.
As a relative of someone in Recovery I can really see the hope Dear Albert brings to people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. I've witnessed first hand the amazing work they do for people from all walks of life and backgrounds. I'm very impressed that, as well as a great In-person menu, they also have a fantastic studio which broadcasts various Recovery focused groups online every week... It's very impressive and high production value. Keep up the great work Dear Albert, thank you from a grateful nephew.
Dear Albert’s Stairway Project offers an array of groups, both structured and fun, helping both those in recovery or seeking it. The helpful team make the experience a positive one. A lovely cafe area serving food and drinks daily, buzzing with like minded people, all there for the same purpose. Thankyou to the Dear Albert team for your support and passion in recovery.
I came to Dear Albert in 2022, looking for support to help me with my addictive behaviour. It really has been a wonderful journey so far, meeting new people, and attending meetings where we learn multiple tools on how to live life on life's terms. S.M.A.R.T (self management and recovery training,) and A.C.T (acceptance and commitment training) are two of the groups that have changed my life. I am now four years sober and I still attend these meetings to this day. Dear Albert is a wonderful place, with a wonderful community that welcomes you with open arms. I'm so grateful for all the help I have received.
Dear Albert is brilliant for so many people. The people running the place are inspiring. It is a lovely community of staff and users, developing a great attitude to recovery. They have made such a difference in my life....x Every course has been really well constructed to emphasise the working process of recovery x
Dear Albert has been a huge part of my recovery. They make quality rehab and recovery support accessible without the extortionate costs that so often put help out of reach. The MAFs course in particular is something I’d strongly encourage others to do—it introduces you to the world of recovery and helps you navigate what can be a confusing and difficult journey. I’m genuinely grateful for the support they’ve given me in rebuilding my life 🫶🏻🙏🏻💪🏻❤️🎉🙌🏻
Have just completed the “MAF’s” course with DearAlbert & what a great course! It is informative & taught me a great deal about the mutual aid models. It was well-delivered by the facilitators at DearAlbert who make you feel valued & welcomed to be joining them. It’s great too, that if you don’t want to attend in-person, you can attend via zoom, in the comfort of your own home. Thank you to all the staff of DearAlbert who provide & deliver such a great course, great job guys!
I honestly can’t recommend the Dear Albert course enough. It’s been a really positive and eye-opening experience for me. The course doesn’t judge or lecture — instead, it gently helps you understand drugs and alcohol, the impact they can have, and, most importantly, all the support and help that’s actually out there. It’s made me reflect on myself in ways I hadn’t really done before and encouraged me to be honest about my own habits and choices. Because of this course, I feel more aware, more informed, and more motivated to make positive changes in my life. What really stood out to me was how supportive and understanding the course felt. It makes you realise you’re not alone, and that help is available when you’re ready to take it. I truly believe this course could benefit anyone who is struggling with substance use or even just questioning their relationship with alcohol or drugs. It’s really good to have a course ran by experienced recovered users. Jo delivers the course just great and with the other support with her. But Jo is still in the zone realistic and helps us all be honest. A really valuable course that I’m grateful to have taken — I would recommend it to anyone who needs support, reassurance, or fresh perspective. Thanks Jo and all the other Team members.
I have found the ACT (Acceptance Commitment Training) course offered by Dear Albert has had a massive impact on my recovery from addiction and given me tools to avoid continual relapsing. All the staff at Dear Albert are brilliant but particularly Jo and Paul who run the Zoom sessions. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone struggling with addiction.
I have been doing ACT =Acceptance and Commitment Training with Dear Albert for 6 months now. I would really recommend it and also I think highly of Jo, the ACT facilitator. So far I have learned to accept certain behaviours, to set new TOWARDS behaviours and commit to small weekly challenges. This has really helped towards my overall mental health, thank you DA
