I've recently finished my sessions with Milla after 3 years of regular appointments and could not recommend her more. Originally seeking out support for issues around anger and grief, we together explored so much more. I have learned so much from our time together and have implemented lots of advice from our sessions which has proved to be invaluable during some very difficult circumstances. Throughout Milla has been considerate, understanding and non judgemental. I really can't thank her enough for the help that she's given me.
My son was speaking of self harming and I was desperate to find someone he could trust to speak with, he was as keen as I was to get the help he needed. I made contact and explained what my son was going through, Ms Kenny and I agreed it would be a good thing she spoke with my son to ensure he was keen to engage. This went well but she could only offer a week or so later Monday 29/07/24. This was agreed. She immediately invoiced us the week prior to the session. Something I've never seen within the "caring" profession. As my son was away from home and there, by Ms Kenny's admission was an server delay in the invoice reaching me on Wed 24/07/24. Due to my 90 yo father being in an accident that day, I wasn't able to make payment until later the next day. My son contacted me and said as payment had not been made, Ms Kenny had cancelled the session. I immediately messaged Ms Kenny to see if I could pay directly, quoting the reasons for the delay. Ms Kenny called directly and spoke for a few minutes without pause, on how she had not been paid and how the delay was due to my sons lack of communication. I tried to reply but was interrupted several times. At this point I realised that Ms Kenny was not the kind of person I could trust to speak to my child. Her entitled, inflexible approach was quite shocking. I have a lot of experience in and around the caring profession, talking therapies, counselling, etc. I respect boundaries and clear terms. I'm a self employed tradesperson. I've never invoiced anyone prior to the delivery of a service. I respect if that is her policy. What I can't accept is the mercenary and inflexible way Ms Kenny has conducted herself. If I did similar I'd naturally expect a bad review. Hence my comments here. I'd like to ensure people are aware how Ms Kenny treats her prospective clients. My son seems to have avoided a potentially bad experience and I have saved well earned money, which can now be spent on someone whom my son and I can trust. Lesson learnt.
I found Milla via a Google search for a counsellor after a friend had recommended that counselling might help me when I was going through a particularly low period in my life. I couldn't have been more lucky in my search! Now, a year later after six months of weekly and more lately monthly sessions I genuinely feel like a different person. Milla worked with me to explore, reflect on and understand many aspects of my past and present which has helped me work on my anxiety and low self-esteem issues, and given me the strength to move forward and to start enjoying my life again without constant worry and stress. Milla is incredibly easy to talk to and trust with your thoughts - even at the very first session I felt completely comfortable with her. It was always a surprise each time she gently mentioned that we were nearing the end of a session. Milla was completely supportive of my request to end weekly sessions after I felt we'd got to a suitable stage in our work, and to carry on with regular monthly sessions and she would always do her best to find a suitable time for me. It takes commitment on both sides to achieve something with counselling, and with Milla I found a brilliant ally to work with. I would strongly recommend her to anyone seeking assistance.
Milla provided me a highly supportive and encouraging environment to explore my feelings and past experiences at a time I really needed it. She was able to offer practical advice on confronting a range of challenges I faced including anxiety, depression and low self esteem through positive actions. I have no hestitation in reccomending Milla to people in the area seeking counselling support.
