Jill's beginner's yoga course was exactly what I wanted from a course! It was fun, engaging, informative, and much more Jill was very helpful in guiding everyone on how to do the various poses, and progressed the difficulty of the flows and poses each week at the perfect rate so that everyone was able to keep up, and to top it off Jill was always bringing a positive energy and mentioned a lot of Yoga theory that I hadn't heard in any other yoga courses I did Overall I'd 100% recommend Hearts & Roots as I had a great time, increased my confidence, and learnt so much!
I’ve done a few yoga classes before and felt a bit of of my depth. However Jill’s beginners classes have been well thought out and taken it step by step so that truly all abilities can participate. What I love about Jill’s classes is that she has such a way with words and explains things in a way that really helps direct me on what my body should be doing and feeling, it’s almost like I can see it! That’s a real skill and I’ve not had that before. I also love that she isn’t just teaching us yoga, but the history of it, meditation and what yoga is all about. Look forward to every class and feel so much better after it. Highly recommend!
Jill’s Somatic workshop was such a beautiful experience. Jill threaded very apt quotes and passages into the narrative of the path exploring different areas of our body. In turn, this prompted our mind to explore what limits it was setting and that really there were no absolutes, no rights and wrongs and that our bodies were free to explore the poses. This was so releasing.
Jill's Somatic Yoga Afternoon was brilliant. Not only was it fun and enjoyable, it was also empowering and inspired me to reflect on and develop my practice.
Lovely grounding nurturing experience, a gentle practice with some lovely good stretches and gently held explorations of some classic yoga poses. Guided beautifully throughout Jill’s class is a gentle lovely way to start a Monday morning.
Jill has been our Yoga teacher for well over six years. Her knowledge and understanding of yoga and its philosophy is outstanding and her classes interesting, varied and student centred. To add to her talents she sings and has been known to play a number of musical instruments to enhance the practice. Sadly Jill moved away from our local area but as we have never been able to find any one of the same calibre as Jill we meet her for classes via zoom. We cannot recommend her highly enough!
I’ve been a student of Jill’s for many years. Both in person and now through online yoga sessions she is just the most empathetic and personally tuned in teacher I’ve worked with. Lovely flowing style and works at your pace and energy levels.
Jill's yoga classes offer a deep exploration into different poses and the body, with offer to feel the burn or relax! I'm not a morning person but I always come out feeling positive and refreshed after Jills 7:30 classes. Would recommend if your looking for yoga that encourages tapping in and listening to your body :))
As my first non-youtube yoga instructor, Jill has been amazing in helping my to develop my practice and improve my mindfulness. She is brilliant at helping me to work through difficult moves and brings great vibes to early morning classes. Would defo recommend Jill to anyone looking for a yoga teacher in Bristol!
I have known Jill for many years as a friend, as well as a wellness practitioner. I have connected with Jill in yoga classes, chanting, and most recently in a Family Constellation session. Jill is an amazing practitioner - she is deeply present with you, and creates a safe and compassionate space for going within. I experience Jill as being gentle and loving, but also having an inner strength and steadiness that enables me to access a deeper and more vulnerable level of introspection, in a very well-held way. Thank you Jill for our continued connection!
