I first got "In the Chair with Jer" when confronted with a triple-pronged life crisis: 40, the end of the world and, perhaps most importantly, the recent death of my mother, - the net effect of which resulted in stress, irritability, and outbursts of anger. Over the course of 8 sessions (beginning weekly and ending monthly) Jer skilfully and delicately led me to talk about these issues, and in the process, evaluate and explore my feelings toward them. Along the way, other unexpected worries (both old and new) arose and being given a safe, non-judgemental space to air these unexpressed thoughts and feelings was one that I found profoundly useful. Not only did our sessions help me come to terms with my loss, my unwarranted sense of guilt and my emotions stemming from those, but they also left me feeling calmer and like I knew myself better. Often, our sessions would also encourage creative and imaginative ideas around problems in my work, and I would leave feeling equipped and excited to tackle those. As a man with a job and a family it's not easy to find time to call your own, - and even harder to find an opportunity to talk about your inner feelings, worries and regrets. To have just an hour to do that with someone you trust is an experience I'd wholeheartedly recommend. It will help.

I received counselling from Jeremy for 20 months, in which time he supported me to understand how to make sense of what had happened in my childhood and how that was affecting my current circumstances. He really paid attention to what I brought to each session, and often helped me to make plans that were fed by my core values, while offering me helpful metaphors and useful visual representations of my words. I can highly recommend his calming and assuring, person-centred approach.

Jeremy brings a pragmatic and down to earth structure to counselling. He is very easy to speak with, the counselling room feels very homely, welcoming and secure. The person centred approach he offers is an excellent tool for arriving at your own decisions and empowering you to take control of now and knowing that it is possible to (re) shape the future! Can thoroughly recommend Jer, good value for an excellent service!
