Spent almost 2 years with Dr. Ryan Blum. I've had people warn me that all psychiatrists just want to prescribe you medication and be done with it, but that hasn't been my experience with him at all. He's seen me through depressive states, heard out my bouts with anxiety, helped me work through so many of the emotional baggage I got from my parents (let's face it, we all have them), and has only ever patiently guided me through it all. With his help, I have been able to be more understanding of myself and have learned how to let go of the damaging need to be perfect at all times. If any of this sounds familiar or hits home, please make sure you speak to someone like Dr. Blum, who is legitimately qualified to hear out your thoughts. If you're like me, sitting alone with your thoughts can be paralyzing and worse, it can make you just spiral even if you present an excellent front on the outside.
My Psych Doc is great. The convenience of video appointments works well. The platform needs some upgrades for efficiency and to reduce redundancy.
Dr. Blum is amazing. I am lucky to have found someone so knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate.
