Happy Head Foot Reflexology and Massage Spa - Downtown — Massage spa in San Diego, CA

I was visiting town and decided to get a massage. I found Happy Heads and had a great experience. The staff was welcoming, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I got a strong therapist, which was perfect for the deep massage I like. Definitely recommend!

Love massages and get them once a week. Visiting from Austin and had 2 hrs to kill. Stopped in an seemed reputable. Decide on 1.5hr massage. Was partnered with Neal. They survey areas that were sensitive and what kind of massage I was needing. I explain all the pressure points that I was looking for. Neil comes in and immediately starts going heavy utilizing the poles to walk on my back which was fine until the pressure was a bit heavy which my comment to correct as far as what I was looking for. Continue it again soft and then immediately back to heavy and deep. I stopped again to ask more swedish massage then deep tissue. He acknowledged. Continued again to the point where he was pressing on nerves and I sat up at that point and told him I need him to go softer. Started slow within 5 minutes back to doing the same thing again and at that point I sat up and said I was done. Receptionist Apologize and called her owner regarding how to handle. They felt the best solution was to charge for 30 minutes even though I was only in their 20 minutes. Not really the resolution I was expecting. Just passing through definitely would not return and for those looking to explore perhaps consider an alternative.

I’ve been going to Happy Head Massage in downtown San Diego for years, and it’s consistently been a great experience. The massages are strong, effective, and exactly what I need every time. I always leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and noticeably better than when I walked in. The space is clean and calming, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get, especially for a downtown location. It’s straightforward, reliable, and absolutely worth it. If you want a solid, no-frills massage that delivers real results without being expensive, this place is a gem. Highly recommend.

Fair prices. Great service. Great communication. Great massage. Massage tables were not comfortable. Definitely would go back.

I can’t say enough great things about the Happy Head massage. Eden was a skilled professional. Visiting from a city that has lots of resorts and spas - I can tell you this place absolutely far exceeds all of them. Can’t wait for my next trip to San Diego - just for the massage!!

Happy Head Massage is amazing! Rubi greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. I had the Swedish deep tissue massage with Sam — it was intense in the best way and worked out all my tension and knots. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Definitely a well-needed and memorable experience!

The ambiance was peaceful, clean, and beautifully relaxing — exactly what I needed. My massage therapist was phenomenal — deeply intuitive, attentive to my needs, and masterfully skilled. They worked out all the tension in my shoulders, back, and neck with just the right amount of pressure. I left feeling lighter, more aligned, and completely rejuvenated. This wasn’t just a massage… it was true body-mind-spirit therapy. I’ve had a lot of massages in my life, and Happy Head definitely ranks at the top. Melissa at the front desk was so professional, attentive, and accommodating. She made sure to understand what I needed (which was a bit picky on my part due to a sunburn). She even let me switch when I realized another option was better. And was super helpful. Jeff! His massage is awesome!!! I super recommend him!! The part where he massaged my sore feet and legs from lots of conference walking was seriously one of the very best feet massages of my life. He also made sure to spend special attention to my super sore lower back. Also the environment was calm and peaceful. Love this place and will be back!

I love this place and the massage was so good! Got in the at last minute for an hour Swedish massage with therapist Amanda and she was great, she absolutely knows how to read the body and I can tell she knows what she's doing. The pressure was perfect and she communicated and checked in with me to make sure it was good during the massage. The front desk was very nice and helpful as well. Absolutely loved my massage here and definitely recommend... I will be back for more!

I made a same day appointment and was seen for a Swedish massage. Establishment seemed clean and professional. The rooms had a bit of a weird set-up as they had an built in desk next to the massage bed. The bed was not heated but did have a button I could press if I ever felt unsafe or needed anything from the receptionist. The massage went well except that there were inconsistencies when massaging the opposite body part. For example, I’d get a full massage of one leg and only half the massage and half the time on the other one. Sometimes some of the techniques between body parts were skipped all together. Kinda bummed. Bring cash to leave a tip as they don’t accept tips via card. They do have an on-site ATM for you to pull out cash if needed.
