Dr. Sawires helped me work out issues I was having in an understanding none judgmental way while showing a genuine attitude to wanting to help. I wouldn’t say Dr Sawires fixed all the problems in my life. She did however show me how to do it for myself. This is why I cannot recommend her enough. If you’re are thinking about trying to understand yourself, resolve challenges in your life, if you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or even if you’re doing good, but you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life I can't think of anyone better suited to help than Dr. Sawires. Speaking to a psychologist can be an intimidating, vulnerable, scary thing and with a few there is even a stigma against it. You might feel all of this when deciding to call for your first appointment. I promise when you leave her office you’ll feel significantly better and realize it was well worth it. As far as the stigma goes, I think it’s important to understand we all feel insecure in some ways, maybe issues as children, issues at work, school, relationships, self image etc and that’s okay. Everyone has issues, but why ignore or deal with them in a self defeating way when there’s other healthy options out there.
In almost two years of seeing her on a weekly basis, I have experienced transformational positive change that will last a lifetime. I would have to go with 7 stars out of 5, but obviously that's not possible, so: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ With my strong endorsement on the record, I also want to add a general comment as it relates to the stigma around mental health: If you're reading this, chances are you're thinking about going to therapy, wondering how (or whether) it might help you. There might be a specific situation in your life you're worried about, that you're hoping to resolve. Or you could be doing just fine, everything going well for you, and you want to keep it that way: think pro-athlete who sees a physical therapist, in order to keep things working smoothly. It could even be a little bit of both. In any case, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. You will benefit immensely from this experience. I imagine the world would be a much better place if more people took the time to objectively, critically yet lovingly look into themselves with the help of a professional. Go ahead. Send her an email. You'll be glad you did.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Sawires! I entered therapy thinking that I only had minor issues to work on (and was just doing it for my doctoral program requirement) but she provided me with so much insight into what was going on internally for me. I started very numb to my emotions and grew so much during our time together! As a future psychologist I can honestly say that if I can be half the psychologist as Dr. Sawires then I will be doing great! I tell all of my friends that are still in San Diego about her! I wish that she could see everyone looking for a therapist because she honestly is life changing. She will be empathetic while still pushing and challenging you. There is nothing more you can ask for in a psychologist!
She's the best, but don't take my word for it, find out for yourself.
