After more than a year of seeing various specialists during a sudden onset of multiple medication side effects, Dr. Joe Walker was responsible for finalizing this difficult patient's (me!) problem by successfully adjusting my year+ effort to adjust meds. All specialists were beneficial, but Dr. Walker was the one who really put the last nail in the coffin. Special shout-out to Rahul Dubey, his INFINITELY PATIENT and gracious assistant. Superb team.

Dr. Walker is the best! I’m not sure what these other reviews are talking about. He has helped me finally get a handle on mental health issues I’ve struggled with my entire life. Right now due to COVID he is seeing people via zoom and it’s very convenient. He’s to the point and efficient with appointments. Highly recommend.

Condescending. Appointments are literally 7 minutes.

I am not sure what happened with other reviewers! dr Walker has been great for me and I recommend him. I think I've even challenged his beliefs about what is known about the effects of some drug or other, and he nodded and said he'd have to look it up - in my opinion a perfectly reasonable response to an educated professional being told there might be better information available. If you have a really hard case, I don't know how well he'll do at figuring it out, because I had already explored treatments with previous doctors and found something that seems to work, so I'm mostly going to him for maintenance as my situation changes and such. He's really nice and chill though, he asks me how I'm doing and I narrate through any problems that have occurred, he suggests possible changes and we talk about whether the change is right. (These days psychiatric treatment isn't the thing I need to improve, so it usually stays the same, occasionally with dose decreases when I've found a new skill replaced a med that wasn't ideal or etc, so he really isn't doing much most visits anymore.)

If I could leave zero stars, I truly would.. I have never in my life experience a less professional, condescending, disgustingly degrading doctor in my entire life. I can’t say enough how terrible Dr. Walker is. I honestly wish someone would have warned me prior to wasting money on this appointment. “I have 40 years experience!!!” A doctor who has to pull out his resume in a disagreement is highly insecure, and has no business being a doctor, let alone a psychiatrist. Do yourself, and your mind a favor.. find a different doctor. Or try him out, (politely/professionally) challenge his beliefs about anything he says, observe the reaction, and post your 1 star review for the rest of us.
