This is Mr Magic...this very important opportunity for anyone to change and become a better person... their is nothing bad about any of the services...this place have saved my life, I owe everything to all who gave mey opportunity to get well, gain control,live healthy, this is only if you let the process happen. I'm now in aftercare services, outpatient... My experience is it's the best I have ever experienced iny whole 45 years of active addiction and mental health substance abuse ... The people are fantastic,caring,loving and will with out prejudice or discrimination will offer you the best care and support... Just like me you have to want it. For now I love what I'm doing good, healing, i can see a future of successful positive living. Thank you, Mr.Magic.

Helps you get clean and sober if you really want it. I was there for 2 years in 2004 after serving 1 year in San Mateo County, Redwood city. I also did program called Choices in the county which is run by Delancey Street.

I'm an ex-lifer after 30 years I was sent here to the Walden House for transition back into society.Back in 2020 program and counselors were all so great and helpful this is a great program.It has so much to offer if someone needs to get clean and sober I highly recommend it

I was in Walden House in 2005 . We had loads of fun at 815 . We hang out at Ocean Beach and Pier 39 and we had Chinese food with Reach..After 6 months Walden House help me get hired for two jobs and I've been sober ever since. 🏤🌉🌉

At the time I went there I was experiencing a life and death situation called severe drug addiction. I survived many don’t. I attended many times. In my recovery journey things I learned at Walden house have stuck with me. It’s not what I would call an easy program. It’s what I needed behavior modification to get me stable. Later I did the 12 steps that furthered my understanding of myself and my effects on other people. It’s a life savor. You get out what you put in.

Walden house is what you put into it, i was lucky that they had never turned me away. I had the chance to meet some of the greatest mentors a person can meet, these people who run this place are a godsend. There above and beyond, i left in 2014 and my life was saved by them, Walden house is a home away from home, everytime i walk into 890 hayes i feel thankful for what they gave me. I learned how to talk to people and function as a law abiding citizen, i was in and out of prison for 22 years . I had nothing before Walden house, i have my family back and i own everything i have. I look back to where i was 20 years ago and i'm thankful i had the opportunity to learn and grow from teacher and mentors who helped me be a better person.

I've been to both 815 Buena Vista West (dual diagnosis, co-ed, very cool), and now I'm at 890 Hayes (men only, dual diagnosis). Both are awesome. I did 6 months at 815, staff is awesome, program allows you to grow the way you want to. I'm almost at my 3 month mark here at 890. My life gets better each day thanks to this place, and the people who run it. Of the few programs I've been to, this one is thee best! Hands down. Take it serious, and you will succeed!

The house is beautiful, too bad the clients trash the place. Since Walden House is pretty much your only option if you want to get treatment, it's where to go. Even though the machismo is off the scale, you can avoid it if you seriously want help. I recommend doing what the staff says, because it's simple, don't lie. If you lie to yourself and others, you will not get any treatment at all.
