I went here. I gotta say I didn’t like it- but after awhile, I realized I WASENT there to have fun, but learn something. Once your REALLY ready to stop with drugs alcohol/ you CAN through this place . I gotta say,?it worked! Yea Ive had a couple slips over the years but never a full relapse- I’m sober today and I owe it to the friendship house

I dont know what's it's like now but in 2005 some staff members like to shame and embarrass the clients and we couldn't talk to people in AA meetings. So I tried Father Alfred center and Walden House and they let you have some dignity. I been sober since then and I'm back with my family

I found their approach to recovery inadequate and careless. It is tailored to those facing criminal repercussions related to their addiction rather than those looking to get sober culinarily. There are well-intentioned counselors but the resources are thin. It was not a healing environment.

I did the year long program with friendship house and I believe their program is vital for Native People and their recovery. They have taught me so much during my time there, and yes, they do take the relationships there very personal, but that is what makes the program so suffice and more. There needs to be more programs like Friendship House and I miss Helen Devore so much. She was always connecting with the clients and she made my stay their very comfortable. A special thanks to Randy Shirley and his methods to getting into our psyche and showing us how to be strong and persevere through our time of vulnerability. Nathan and Victoria were always people to look up too and have the truest empathy that is needed for the success with Native Peoples from all over the Nation. (They are an asset to this safe haven!) Last but not the least Laverne Shirley and the Kitchen crew were always there to support and create new perspectives for the cliental and they need to be acknowledged .... Thank you for helping me find a better understanding of recovery with the help you provide!

My sister recently left the friendship house after 90 days and im sad to say she is still the same person she was while going in. Not to mention they prescribed her Narcan (which is used for opioid overdose). I dont know why they would be worroed about an overdose if they are supposed to be sober while living there. I also know of another person going there for her 5-6 time... It seems to me this place is just a vacation for users but they dont get real help. I strongly advise to send your loved ones to a different facility.!

i’ve had family members in this program. my family members have used before and after being in this program they came out clean and sober. they’ve been working and truly making their lives better. you really have to want to help yourself in this program and they help boost that hopefulness. if you have that drive that you want to be clean and sober they’ll help, if you don’t then it’ll be more difficult. friendship house has really helped my family be better!

Called to try to get my incarcerated son help for recovery. Nothing like trying to talk to someone who is clueless, smacking on some lollipop, gum or other food. Got absolutely no help.

There's a lot of mean politics. If u give help ,don't be so picky.Help them. Not make them go around. Getting things to get into program. While there homeless didn't have any of that. That's what needs change just help first then get your money later. Only reason anyone gets in if there sentenced there. I don't know much. But it's in your face.who can't see or feel the need to say help them.
