I was recently a patient here for 5 days, mental health issues. This facility is DANGEROUSLY UNDER STAFFED!!! there are A FEW shining stars in BHT and RN. Mental health patients need sessions, not just a 5 minute "how you doing" 30 minute session goes a long way. Im not being ungrateful, there is DEFINITELY room for improvement. I was front row when an alcohol detox patient went into sezure and cracked his head open. I called out "MAN DOWN" only 1 BHT responded IMMEDIATELY. While everyone else was frozen. It took them 10 minutes to get this patient on the crash cart. Again, I am not ungrateful for the treatment I needed, BUT there's miles and miles of room for improvement. I hope someone in Admin sees this and makes some changes.
Stayed here for 6 days, there is no structure. You barely get to go outside, there are no groups. One day I asked for coloring supplies, it took an hour and a half to get anything. They have no books on unit, all you can do is either watch TV or sleep.
I was admitted here for a few days and let me just say it was a nightmare. My first night there I had a really bad panic attack and the nurses couldn’t care less. One of them basically told me to keep it down or else I’ll stay longer. The entire weekend was terrifying and nobody seemed to actually care about the individuals. The techs are much nicer and actually talk to us like human beings. The nurses just gave us medications and asked “how are you doing”. That’s it. That’s the only time they ever checked in on us. God forbid you actually had a problem too. The way they treated people who were clearly going through a serious mental health crisis was disgraceful and disgusting. This place made my mental health worse. If you have a choice DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was also pretty bad.
I came for a discharge to pick up a member as a cm and the person in the front desk was talking with a lady and was cussing in regards to a patient! Unprofessional poor things that are admitted here! 🤦♀️ Seems like this place does not care for there patients! front desk was unprofessional didnt even ask me to wait or anything or "i"ll be right there with you" ! disgusting! 🤢 😂 Seems like they hate there job here!
I admitted myself here in 2021, and by the looks of current reviews, it has not gotten better. I also called them in 2023 to inquire about the conditions, which the staff willingly admitted that it was still the same. They're still poisoning their patients with ancient food made miles away, which the techs refuse to warm in the microwave. Also the windows are frosted over so nobody can see outside. The techs will yell and fight you over simple requests. I had to lie and tell the doctors I was much better so I could get out on day 7, so they wouldn't try to court order me to return. They treat their voluntary patients like prisoners. Medications dispersed up to 4 hours late. They threw out all my belongings and destroyed my clothes. They also harassed me to take medications I was not prescribed, which caused me to hallucinate. Somebody needs to file a malpractice lawsuit against them. Horrible. We need behavioral health centers, but this one is working against their patients. It's time to close the doors.
I needed more clinical care than I was getting at Mindvalley, so I requested and was transfered here. I benefited from great doctors, nurses, and the group programs were excellent. I would go here over anywhere else in the Valley.
Great staff, group classes are very good. Nurses do a great job. Patients here get seen by great doctors. It's not the funnest hospital but it's the most clinical. You get the care you need not always what you want.
Worst of the worst, every single other medical facility is better than this place. Outside time for patents is a patio; it’s basically prison level care treatment and environment. This place only made my family members mental health worse, they clearly and deliberately take away everything from their parents including shoes clothes art supplies books and everything else. It’s so bad you honestly have a good argument, to the fact they make it so bad that they can keep people unstable so they can keep collecting checks from patents the court and the insurance companies. Patients don’t make you any money if they get better right?
The staff is horrific, do not send your loved one here. It is not a safe place. The patients are better than the staff. They are lazy and incompetent. Abusive and if you try to record the call to document the abuse they hang up on you. I am currently talking to a lawyer to pursue legal action against them.
Our adult son admitted himself during a bi-polar manic episode. They gave him medication and discharged him well before the episode had subsided. Every family member who interacted with him knew he was sitll severely manic. He was back in the hospital 48 hrs later, this time with physical injuries as well. By then he was penniless, hurt, lost his car and had gotten a dog. He was able to self admit before but now we will have to do a guardianship. If you have a choice definitely do not go to to St Luke's. Social worker was all too willing to be rid of him even after she was informed he was SMI and was hiding information just to get released. Much of the support staff was friendly and professional. I hate to leave such a poor review, but those making the decisions didn't want to hear what we had to say. Doctors never returned any phone calls. We got the impression they could care less. They did not even attempt to communicate with his primary psychiatrist and his calls went unanswered too. The facility is also very run down.
