Years ago, I got a DUI (admittedly a very stupid thing to do). As part of my punishment, I was sentenced to alcohol counseling, and I was assigned to a therapist at this location. That therapist insisted on drug testing me. I'm not really sure if that was required or not, I didn't push back very hard on it because I didn't do drugs so I didn't think it would matter. In fact, I worked at Potawatomi and they drug tested us randomly multiple times a year. To my surprise, the therapist said that I had tested positive for marijuana. I couldn't think of anything except for maybe my neighbors in my apartment smoking that would have caused me to test positive. He obviously accused me of smoking weed. Anyway, whatever I figured, he'll test me again in 2 weeks and if I've got some in my system it'll be gone. Next visit, he tests me again, and again says I'm positive for marijuana. I can't figure it out, no clue what's going on. Long story short, this continues for about 2 months. During this time period I was tested at work and passed without issue. I had an opportunity to get another job, but it would require me to have a driver's license. So with confirmation from my work drug test being passed, I went in super confident, took another test, but he still said I was positive. I asked to see the test strip and the box, because at this point all I could think was that it was a bad test kit. Turns out, I had a very faint bar on the test strip. The kit said that samples with a faint line needed to be sent into a lab for confirmation. So I ask him if he's done that, and he says I know how to read a test I've been doing this for a long time. So I tell him, listen, if you don't sign off on me completing this counseling so I can get my license back, I'm going to call a lawyer. He immediately caved and signed off on me completing the counseling. To this day, I remember how unfair that was, and how helpless I felt. I have no idea if it was just incompetence, cruelty, or if they wanted to keep me coming because I actually had insurance that was covering these sessions.
I've been seeing my therapist for over 13 years. She's helped me navigate tons of difficulties that have occurred. I was prompted to write a review (I like never write reviews by the way) but I was prompted to write one because I saw all these negative reviews that people previously wrote on here. I don't have one negative thing to say...obviously because I've been with my therapist for 13+ years, why would I keep coming back if ICF sucked as much as others say they do.Please remember that that ppl sometimes write negative reviews when they are mad or perhaps when they don't get their way. This company has been in business since like 1988 or something, which shows longevity within the community and that's a testament to they quality treatment and services they provide. ICF Consultants has the best of the best staff members. I would 100% stay with my therapist for 13 more years...I'm down for it if she is lol. 10/10 recommend ICF. Come to ICF and stay with ICF. They've changed my life for the rest of my life. They have also help my family get closer together which I thought was impossible but that shows you how skilled the therapist here are.
Would never ever go to this establishment I have been getting harassed by Irene Cunningham on my Facebook page when I'm looking for jobs to apply to and she constantly goes on our groups and makes ridiculous comments to people who are trying to find jobs it's a shame that she thinks she's better than everyone else who are looking for work
Was a client for about two months, doing EMDR. I was out running errands during one of my appointments and told my counselor that, she said we could reschedule. I later got a $90 missed appointment bill despite speaking to her on the same day about needing to reschedule. I will be fighting to not pay this because I wasn't told I would be charged and they didn't even try to contact my insurance despite having it on file (I found IFC through my job's EPA). Needless to say I'm not paying that $90 and I'm definitely not rescheduling. Please seek elsewhere for your care.
Karen is WONDERFUL. She helped me through many different struggles and provided the best quality of care. I unfortunately had to stop coming last year due to insurance issues (my end not theirs) & have found my way back. She is one the best counselors I’ve had the pleasure of having.
These people do not care about you! They will not return your calls. I called last week using the language of distress stating it was not a medical emergency but I needed a therapist FAST! I called Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and the next Tuesday. NO RESPONSE! I called three therapist and left multiple messages with the front desk. It was not until I left a nasty message that I received a call. Take your problems and money to a group of therapist that care about people. They are out there however this is not the resource you seek. You suck ICF!
