I was ready and willing to attend weekly sessions, but two weeks were canceled by my counselor due to her own scheduling. When I had to cancel once, I was told I’d be discharged per policy. I appreciate the help I received early on, but the lack of flexibility and understanding at the end was disappointing. It’s especially discouraging when they say they support veterans — I finally felt like I had good therapy, and then it was taken away. What’s worse is that I wasn’t even told I was discharged. I tried to log into the portal, and it said my account was deleted. This felt unfair and unprofessional.

I've been trying for 9 weeks now to get into an appointment, Mayra is impossible to get a hold of, today was my first appointment via zoom, 30 minutes late as I'm typing this and still no therapist on the other end of the call

Before learning about this place; I had very limited knowledge about what programs I would be qualified for (I’m a veteran) I assumed just the VA (for medical ) and I never gave it much thought past that . Finding out about the RRC has dramatically changed my life for the better; and I’m profoundly grateful. Prior to going there -I had lost my job and was about to be added to the ranks of the newly homeless (Depending on how you define “ homeless” in some people’s eyes, I would’ve already been there. I was staying on the floor of a gym at a church where I would clean every night in exchange for sleeping there. I was too stubborn to go to a homeless shelter, because the one thing I had left in my life that I had no intention of leaving was my cat. Me and Cleo have been together a long time- she’s my family. Fast forward almost a year. I have my own car; my own apartment (cat friendly! ) I make a little income online but also searching for a job (it’s hard to maintain a job if you can’t wash your clothes or have a place to stay) RRC didn’t do EVERYTHING for me - But I can honestly say I would not be where I’m at now without them. And although it’s a government agency, I have not met a bad employee from there- My caseworker, Amanda Jones; has went out of her way numerous times to help me-These people care about their clients and they do whatever they can to help them- If you are a veteran and you need help, they should be the first people you call. You won’t regret it. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me.. Thank you RRC and Especially AMANDA!! William (Former squid; GMG - USS Wabash)

If you have to take a DWI education class make sure you take it here!!! I can not express how amazing Tony Sue is. I had to get a drug evaluation and take the DWI education course. I went in thinking the experience was going to be horrible and dreadful. I came out laughing and knowing so much more than I thought I knew. I feel like Tony Sue made the experience delightful and fun. She also made the DWI Education easy to understand and retain.

I showed up for my standing appointment and was greeted by a locked door. The Staff here are usually much better at communicating. My counselor did not make an effort to contact me after the COVID-19 shutdown. My mental health issues have worsened and I wasn't given any referrals or closeout appointment. I guess you get what you pay for. As a Veteran I am used to 2nd rate healthcare.

I only been in texas for a little over two months and these people helped me look for a place and I just got approved yesterday. They were very helpful, professional, and I had no issues with them. Communication was great. Yesterday I got approved for an apartment in a nice neighborhood and I'm super happy.
