If you are a woman DO NOT get your psychiatric care here. This man, or Doctor, was condescending and laughed at me while explaining my symptoms. Made me small and unheard. The most unprofessional medical encounter I’ve ever experienced. I left that practice feeling worse than when I walked in and genuinely felt sorry for the female employees there. He talked to them all as if he was superior and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I’m sure my insurance will be billed but I feel I didn’t receive any services except worse self esteem and a fear of doctors now. I wasted my time going here and now have to deal with the aftermath of this visit to my already suffering mental wellbeing. This is shameful behavior. Maybe more pictures of his awards and achievements will convince some to go there but definitely a big flavor of narcissistic god-complex going on with this man. I will never return and will tell anyone I care about to stay away from that place.

Dr. Uga is the best psychiatrist in the world. The first time I took a patient there, he and his wonderful staff welcomed us in at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Does anyone else do that?

Wow! I’ve had nothing but issues with Veterans Affairs (VA) exams during service and since I’ve retired from the military but not so with Dr. Uga. His office, confirmed our appt the day prior, got me in at appt time for a detailed questionnaire, which were in line with required VA claims questionnaires, the office was very professional. About 15 mins later I was walked back to meet Dr. Uga and his student Dr who was also so kind and empathetic. One of the things I appreciated most was Dr. Uga’s transparency regarding what the VA wanted out of the appt, it’s always hard to be candid when you don’t know what the objective is. He was the first one in 8 months who prioritized what I said was the root cause of my trauma in service. The first medical professional in 13 years who has listened in detail, asked appropriate questions and sympathized with what I struggle with daily. No gas lighting, no rushing, no condemnation, it felt like someone was actually going to fully advocate on my behalf utilizing the facts in my service record, for once. Based on Dr Uga’s report I received a relatively fair compensation percentage compared to the VA’s usual treatment of veteran’s claims. If I’d had doctors like Dr. Uga for my physical claims exams they likely would not be getting 0%, denied or other low percentages due to poor exams and lack of attention to detail VA/case records. Dr. Uga really sets the bar for doctors, for the psychiatry field, for veterans compensation and pension exams and just overall medical ethical practices. If I lived in El Paso or even nearby I’d see him permanently, but ofc as we are expected to travel hours for our veterans exams I live 1.5 hrs from his office. I can tell that as a standard care provider he would be relatable, he has children, is married, and has very strong convictions. Thank you so much Dr. Uga, you’ve given me a tiny seed of hope for western medicine and empathy of humanity, wish you and your team all the best.

Dr Uga and his staff provides world class treatment. Dr. Uga is very attentive and tries his very best to get to the root of the problem. I highly recommend his services for both military personnel as well as El Paso patrons. Two thumbs up!!!!

I recently visited Dr. Uga and had an exceptional experience. As a veteran, finding a healthcare provider who genuinely respects and understands my unique needs has often been difficult, but Dr. Uga exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Uga took the time to acknowledge my military service and listened attentively to my medical history and concerns. The examination and review conducted by Dr. Uga were incredibly thorough, demonstrating a level of care and precision that immediately reassured me about the quality of my healthcare. Dr. Uga clearly explained every step of the evaluation, provided detailed information about recommended treatments or tests, and patiently addressed all of my questions. What impressed me most was the sincere respect and dignity Dr. Uga showed me throughout the appointment. I felt truly valued not only as a patient but especially as a veteran. This was by far one of the best medical experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Uga to anyone seeking compassionate, thorough, and respectful medical care. Fellow veterans will particularly appreciate the outstanding attention and genuine respect provided.

If we could give no stars i would. My spouse was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in Illinois by 2 different doctors. First appointment they said she has major depression disorder. She has going there for 3 years and they make her feel uncomfortable and feels her treatment isn't the correct. Instead of talking to her in 2 different occasions they call the elpaso police department crisis team. Very disgruntled with the care they have given her.

This clinic does not take proper notes, is not able to correctly fill out short term disability paperwork. Very disappointing. The Dr and NP won't listen to patient concerns. Word of advice: verify summary notes after every visit to ensure they are accurate and thorough. I would not recommend this clinic.

Eddie Gutierrez is the most unknowledgeable and unprofessional mental health professional that I’ve ever met. IF you can even call him that, which is being VERY generous. I am very surprised that Dr. Uga is okay with allowing the type of treatment that I was given. Mr. Gutierrez was entirely dismissive and rolled his eyes and scoffed at me throughout the entire appointment. Completely dismissing any concern that I brought to his attention regarding my medication or any of my diagnoses. Isn’t your job supposed to be at the very least to listen to your patients? In my opinion, if that’s such a burden of a task for you to do then you should pick another profession. If you need or want actual PROFESSIONAL help with appropriate bedside manner, please seek it elsewhere. Trust me. He completely invalidated any of my already established diagnoses that have been confirmed by numerous other doctors beforehand for years, and stubbornly refused to consider any other opinion besides his own. Mr. Gutierrez should highly consider going back to school and being properly trained and educated. Because he clearly needs a bit of a refresher and at the very least a wake up call. I will happily continue to look elsewhere myself for an ACTUAL professional.

I can't begin to explain how absolutely amazing Dr. Uga is!!!! He is the most patient and kind hearted human I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have been depressed since I can remember. I have been to a lot of therapist and tried several treatments since I was 13, nothing ever helped. I am not one to take pills of any kind (they scare me). Dr. Uga offered another solution TMS . I was willing at this point, being 46, to try anything. I completed the treatment and I, honestly, did not know of a life without depression, anxiety and panic attacks. For the first time in my life I feel "normal"and happy. A true miracle. If you are depressed or anxious this is the Dr. to see! He saved my life! Dr. Uga thank you from the bottom of my heart! Again, he SAVED my life!
