I’ve been a loyal client of Ilse—now at Wellspace Bodywork—for 10 years, and there’s truly no one like her. Her attention to detail and skill are unmatched; every time I try another massage therapist, I walk away disappointed. I recently started a very physical job and was ending my days in a lot of pain. I went to see Ilse on one of my worst days, told her exactly where I was hurting, and she listened carefully and got right to work. I couldn’t believe how much better I felt afterward—and I had zero lingering pain the next day! Her space is always spotless, relaxing, and welcoming, and her prices are an excellent value for the level of care she provides. If you’re searching for a massage therapist, stop now—Ilse is the best, hands down.

I went to see Ilse at her studio about a month ago for a much needed prenatal massage. She is amazing!!! Not just in technique but also as a human - the moment I stepped in I felt so welcome. Her studio is really cozy and conveniently located and has a dope sound system. I've not stopped thinking about Ilse's massage since I've been and once I find some room on my schedule, will definitely be rebooking!

During the intake Ilse says she’s practiced massage for over 20 years, and you can tell in the first 5 minutes. Booked a follow up right after because my back, shoulders, and neck feel like they’ve taken a deep breath for the first time in months. Her studio also has a warming table, tasteful furniture, and a sick sound setup 🤘10/10

Could not recommend this place more. I’ve only had a few massages in my life, but this one was far more satisfying and healing than the other ones I’ve had, that were also twice the cost. There is truly no comparison. Ilse could not be better at her job and her passion for and commitment to her work are palpable. She puts you at ease immediately and listens carefully to what your body needs that day. Her energy is fantastic and she is just a wonderful person all around. I’m out of town on a work trip, and genuinely devastated I can’t be a regular client, but I loved my experience so much my friend and I are both getting another massage before I leave next week. If you’re in need of a massage, please please do yourself the biggest favor and come here. It will be worth every cent. Meanwhile, I will be trying to figure out how to make an annual trip back to Austin to see Ilse!

Ilse is so amazing! The best massage I have ever had. Doesn't rush the process and you get a massage for the full time you booked. Super cool person! Highly recommend you book a 2 hour massage with her, you won't regret it!

Ilse is a truly gifted healer and I am so lucky to have found her while I was visiting Austin. She is clearly doing her life's work and you can just feel that she puts her heart and soul into her massage therapy. I would especially recommend Ilse and WellSpace if you are looking for someone who has the capacity for trauma-informed bodywork-- she will take extra care and attention in addressing your needs holistically and with great sensitivity. WellSpace is the truest form of Health Care. This is a highly customized massage experience with an incredibly skilled and intentional therapist.

I've been going to Ilse for over a year now and every massage has consistently been fantastic. She's always asked about my problem areas, takes care to address any concerns with my body that I have, and checks in with me throughout the massage to make sure everything's alright. Never once have I felt rushed, and I always leave feeling infinitely better. Having a massage therapist who really cares and wants the best for who she's working on makes all the difference. A fun addition is that she always has awesome music playing -- which is less distracting than the stuff they play at major spas. Plus, since reopening after lockdown, the precautions Ilse has taken has made be feel very safe to schedule an appointment. If you're looking for a new place to get a massage with someone who goes so far out of their way to make you comfortable and address your needs, look no further than Ilse.

Ilse is the absolute greatest! I've seen my share of therapists over the years and I promise you you won't be disappointed. I was a bit leery about getting massages during the pandemic, but she goes above and beyond on precautions and I completely felt safe and protected. Partner that with her amazing touch, elegant little space and reasonable pricing it's a win/win/win. Plus she takes time with you to talk so you don't feel rushed which is awesome - you really do get your allotted time on the table. I can't wait to schedule another appointment!!

Several months ago, I went to see Ilse on the recommendation of a friend, and I am glad I did! I was recovering from a pelvic injury and thought massage might help. Ilse has been a big part of my quick recovery. I now see her every two weeks like clock work. Not only is Ilse technically skilled at theraputic massage, she is also a great person. Her caring nature comes through in her work. I always look forward to my next appointment. I enthusiastically recommend Ilse!

Ilse really stands out to me due to how each massage feels very personalized for what you need. She is a pleasure to talk to and gets to know you and what your body needs with her consultations before each massage. During the massage, she finds plenty of knots that I didn't know were there, communicates well, and does a great job of providing a massage that is both therapeutic and relaxing. I really appreciate that she excels at providing both because I'm very physically active and often overly stressed/high-strung. Her rates are fair and I recommend visiting her a few times, as her massages seem to get better each time!
