I sought therapy after being transparent about my needs and history from the initial consult I had with Elizabeth. Unfortunately, my experience was frustrating and disappointing. After an extensive intake process and explicit requests to confirm insurance coverage prior to starting, insurance verification was not completed until my first billed session, during which a significant portion of time was spent contacting my insurer. Both the first and second sessions were largely devoted to intake paperwork rather than therapy. At the end of the second session, care was abruptly declined due to a relatively common concern that had already been disclosed on the intake forms and could have been screened for earlier. I was informed that the session would still be billed in full. I respect a therapist’s right to practice within their scope, but clearer communication and an earlier determination of fit would have prevented unnecessary expense and distress. I hope this feedback helps others make informed decisions and encourages more transparency in her intake process.

Beware of this therapist’s policies. She saw me for an intake session (I paid my insurance copay of $25), I talked about my life for 45 minutes. She then told me I didn’t have enough symptoms to use my insurance and I could be a private pay client for $160 per session. I left. A few days later she used my credit card on file to charge me $120 for the intake session, saying I agreed to this in the billions of online forms I signed before seeing her. It felt cruel and unethical.
