Having a massage with Mungu was a truly delightful experience. He really helped me work out some tension and pain I’ve been experiencing, and his studio and demeanor were lovely and calming and authentically Austin. This experience will be right on the top of my wish list for future treats to myself.
I am grateful to have had multiple sessions with Mungu, pre and post surgery that combined lymphatic drainage, cupping, and deep tissue work. It was exactly what my body needed. Mungu was able to work out stubborn knots with the tissue massage, while the lymphatic work and cupping really helped with my overall circulation and inflammation before and after medical procedures. Mungu's healing energy & breadth of skills helped harness, guide and support my body's healing process during an uncomfortable time of health challenges. I left feeling both physically relaxed and 'lighter' each time. I highly recommend Mungu!
Mungu is an exceptional massage therapist. I have been his client for over a decade and recommend him to everyone.
Mungu is a master of his craft. The best masseuse I’ve been to in Austin. I had a deep massage and his technique was astonishing, reminded me of fascia massages, he attends accurately to nerve endings with a gentle touch. Highly recommended!
I have seen several massage therapists to help me with chronic pain from scoliosis and my muscles being extremely tight. Mungu has helped me so much and is one of the best. I always leave his place feeling so much better. He knows how to really use deep, targeted pressure to get out those tight knots that other therapists can’t seem to get to. I appreciate him so much and he’s truly an incredible massage therapist!
A+ highly recommended! I came for help with a sharp pain in my neck and limited mobility from a heavy lifting incident. As soon as the session begun I could tell Mungu Barrett knew what he was doing. By the end of the session I had mobility back and finally relief from the pain! I will only trust Mungu Barrett with my massage therapy and will come again next time I am in Austin!
Hi Mungu, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the incredible massage experience. Rating it a perfect 10/10 feels accurate! I came to you with severe neck and shoulder pain that had been bothering me for nearly a week. I really appreciated how you focused directly on the affected areas and listened attentively to my description of the pain and the signals my body was giving. By the end of the session, I was amazed that I could move my neck freely again. The sharp pain that had been constantly radiating in my shoulder blade area had completely disappeared. You did an excellent job of working deeply into the muscles, effectively releasing knots and tightness. As you mentioned, I did experience some expected soreness the following day. Now, two days later, I'm thrilled to report that my body feels completely back to normal! I can hardly believe the relief I feel. You were truly amazing, and I so appreciated your care in understanding my specific needs. You are without a doubt the best massage therapist I have ever been to. You can be sure that I will be booking another session soon! For anyone reading this, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Mungu. The personalized experience you'll receive is truly exceptional when booking a massage. Thanks again, Tyler
After getting a massage from Mungu years ago, I was convinced it was the best massage I ever had and recently sought out where he might be. I was happy to see that he started Mungu Barrett Massage and have been going regularly for about 6 months now. Still the best massage and his new space is really cool!
I’ve been seeing Mungu for a few years now. I experience regular back issues, so getting massages regularly helps me keep everything aligned. I've visited various massage therapists during my work-related travels over the years, but having someone who understands my pain and discomfort near home is an essential part of my self care routine. I tend to fall asleep during our massages because they are so relaxing. I always feel better walking out of his sessions. He is the best massage therapist in Austin. If you’re looking to relax or needing pain relief, Mungu’s intuitive approach will leave you feeling like a new person.
I have been seeing Mungu for massage for years now. He is by far one of the best therapist I’ve ever seen! He has extensive knowledge and education. I believe he’s been doing massage for 20 yrs or so. I feel like when I get on the table I can just relax and I don’t have to worry about a thing bc his intuition and thorough consultation allows me to simply unwind and not think about a thing. He’s also just a really wonderful human to know. Thanks Mungu for years of wonderful massage!
