I had an excellent massage, it was exactly what I've been looking for. I've been getting deep tissue massage for a long time and those always feels good, but they weren't fixing anything. The massage from Geneva was very much focused on restoring range of motion, functionality, and injury recovery. Her calendar is very booked (with good reason!), but she gave me some stretching exercises to do before my next visit.
I have received massages from both Geneva and Colleen now and cannot recommend Blum Body Therapy more. Geneva is a seasoned professional with an intuitive touch. If you have chronic pain, Geneva is the best to help make you more mobile and recommends stretches to do on your own to continue progress in between appointments. My boyfriend works in construction and she has helped him tremendously with his body pain. Colleen's Recovery massage was so therapeutic that anyone with tight muscles from physical activity or sitting too much would find her service beneficial to recovering from body pain. She uses deep tissue techniques, cupping, and CBD cream on tender areas, and really works on my shoulders. I have not had that much mobility in my shoulders in 10+ years! She also gave me stretches to do in between appointments. I highly recommend the team at Blum Body Therapy.
Geneva is fabulous! Her knowledge and wisdom of anatomy and body mechanics means her assessment is spot on - she identified issues I had forgotten were there. The body work she does is subtle and yet so deeply healing. She is aware and responsive, a gifted healer.
The whole vibe at Blum BodyTherapy is calming and caring (also immaculate). But the work with Geneva is amazing. This is not your average Swedish or Sports massage--it is not like massage at all---this is body work. Geneva is a thoughtful and insightful detective. She observes the relationships between soft tissues, muscles and joints and sets out to restore balance. While on the table the work seems so subtle. But after, immediately as well as the next couple of days it is clear that she worked deeply and effectively. Highly recommend her!
As someone who has struggled with back pain for years, it is important for me to work with a therapist who understands how to identify and correct the imbalances my body has that contribute to my pain. Geneva takes the time to assess your posture and within no time has a plan for how to get you in better alignment. She is very no nonsense and makes the session as productive as possible, while also informing you of the imbalances she sees. She is also very pleasant and makes you feel comfortable in the session. I highly recommend if you are looking for someone to help you recover from an injury, help with back pain, or just want to feel a little taller and more mobile in your body.
my first visit was encouraging my muscles are very tight. I have had trigger point no pain no gain before it took care of the problem but it keeps coming back. I think Geneva has a different approach . she already loosened me up with out any pain. gave me 1 exercise to do. I thought I have seen everything have been in pain since 2002. with some relief . I have another appointment will let you know how this works out. its been a little while she is making progress I actually had a pain free day . that sounds so good to a person that has pain everyday . if your not needing surgery you really should give Geneva a try. if she believes she cant help she will tell you. she thought she could help now I'm doable . but it takes both of us because its been so long that I have been like this. reviews are great it helps others make a decision. what do you have to lose besides your pain. thanks . mickey.
I thought Geneva was great. The work felt specific to my symptoms and I felt she was honest about what she could and couldn't do to help. She also let me know where I needed to work more on my own to regain strength and movement. She didn't hurt me once and I feel better today after my appointment than I did yesterday before it.
I've been visiting Geneva once a week for almost a year now, and it's made a huge difference for me. I originally started going to Blum because of a back injury. Even at the outset I was impressed with Geneva's understanding of the body and attention to my individualized needs and areas of concern. As the back injury improved--in large part due to the therapy I was receiving from Geneva--I continued to visit Blum because the sessions are hugely relaxing and other, small injuries required treatment. In each instance Geneva does a great job of treating the area and focusing on what's best for me and my body. I can't say enough good things about Blum.
Geneva is simply the best. I've been going to her 3-4 times a month for over a year now. My chiropractor actually recommended her to me and I've since only gone to her for back pain relief. The wonderful thing about Geneva is that she knows where the pain is and goes there -- without me even having to tell her. And after a year, I'm happy to report that my L4/5 is only at 30% compression instead of 65% when I very first saw her. I have recommended her to my husband who suffers from restless legs (relief), my sister who has scoliosis (relief), and now countless friends and family. I actually have never written a Google review, but am such a fan of Geneva's that I'd write a Google, Yelp, or anything else to spread the word that she helps people in pain!
There are not enough stars to reflect how much Geneva has helped me to regain strength and balance. Recovery after exercise over time has become much easier due to her ministrations. Geneva is masterful and caring and just plain knows her stuff. She is a good listener and is a source of practical and doable advice. My husband and I see her regularly and she helps us to recover from our physical aches and pains. You'll not go wrong!
