TRUTH ATX Austin Treatment Center, highlighting concerns about its management and practices. Despite the monthly fee of $500, treatment appears inconsistent, with selection biases regarding who stays or leaves. The facility seems to prioritize the owner’s residence in a Victorian house on San Bernard Street, rather than the well-being of residents. The management, described as a control freak, fosters unnecessary drama, partly due to living in a separate sober living environment. Residents' confidentiality is compromised, as unlicensed staff—such as counselors and the house manager—have access to sensitive information during group meetings, leading to further conflicts. For those with limited financial resources, this facility may not be suitable, as it seems to exploit residents financially without offering genuine support or short-term recovery solutions. While the counselors may perform adequately, there is room for improvement, as attempts to advocate for clients are often shut down. Overall, the facility's environment may do more harm than good, and potential residents should carefully consider whether this is the right place for their recovery journey. Additionally, it's important to note that some information or criticisms might be removed or suppressed online for a fee, which can prevent those seeking genuine help from accessing the full truth. This lack of transparency undermines trust and can hinder individuals in need from making informed decisions.
I live here at ATC at the moment and I've been to 22 rehabs and sober livings but this place is the absolute BEST by a long shot. I love Ashley, Bob, and all of the therapists. Everyone is amazing and actually cares of me as an individual. I've gotten so many things done since being here. I'm a full-time.college student and I just landed a job! I almost have 120 days clean and I'm happier than I've been in so long. Thank you guys!
My journey to recovery was profoundly impacted by the exceptional care I received at Austin Treatment Centers. Specifically, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Robin, my therapist. Her guidance and support were instrumental in helping me navigate the complex issues surrounding my addiction. Robin's empathy and expertise created a safe space where I felt truly heard and understood. Ashley was another vital part of my recovery process. Her coaching and unwavering support were invaluable as I transitioned into a sober lifestyle. She provided practical tools and encouragement that helped me build a strong foundation for long-term sobriety. Beyond the exceptional therapy and coaching, Austin Treatment Centers also provided practical support that made a significant difference. The affordable housing options eased a major burden, and the provided transportation to and from classes removed a significant logistical hurdle. Furthermore, the staff's ability to connect me with additional resources was incredibly helpful in addressing other aspects of my recovery. I am immensely grateful for the holistic and compassionate care I received at Austin Treatment Centers. The combination of expert therapy, dedicated coaching, and practical support created an environment conducive to healing and growth. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a path to recovery.
Pros: - Therapists are wonderful, supportive, and seem to genuinely care. - They give you leniency when you first arrive for the sober living rent, and it’s a pretty good deal (if you’re fine with living with a rotating cast of 5 other residents) -Recovery coaches are helpful and very supportive of your recovery. Will go the extra mile to keep you sober. -Sober living homes are (generally) nice and located in good parts of town, for the women at least -Nicely decorated office and homes come furnished. -Free snax n coffee Cons: -Too many patients are crammed in as of Jan 2025 -There’s only one house manager to about seven different houses, good luck getting in touch with him if your washer or room light doesn’t work -I was told that I should “graduate” from their OP program after 3 weeks (by a generous calculation) when most treatment facilities keep you OP for about 9-12 wks. It’s clear that upper management are kicking an OP patient early from treatment to make room for PHP patients to make more money from insurance. Either that, or I got a “kickback” reaction because I asked the landlord (separate entity from ATC/TXSL) to help fix our washing machine, and I believe he wasn’t aware the place was a sober house. -One of the therapists kinda left me hanging dry, she promised a celebration of my graduation at ATC, only to ghost me. Two stars cos I’m still bitter about the last item, happened more recently.
Such a wonderful place, from sober living to their entire staff to each one of their exceptional counselors! ATC is definitely where sobriety starts and continues your growth to recovery for a better drug free life!
This place is absolutely wonderful! Everyone there is very supportive and helpful. Robyn and Sarah are some of the best people I've ever met and I couldn't have done this without them. ❤️
Atc helped keep my recovery on track and helped keep me accountable. The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate about clients recovery. Highly recommend their services to anyone looking to take the next step towards sobriety.
I highly recommend ATC. They made the transition from rehab extremely smooth and welcoming. I love all the staff there but I have to say Ashley definitely touched my heart- from one addict to another. She gave me hope! I will never forget my time there. It was the guidance and structure I needed right when I needed it. Bob and Robyn were there at the beginning of my recovery journey and still keep in touch with me as I continue to grow. Im forever thankful
