Excellent care for my sister-n- law in the select specialty hospital he really cares and interested in his patients care
I’ve been seeing Dr Sharpe for a couple years now and he is phenomenal. He truly cares about you and wants to make sure you’re not over medicated. He listens to all your concerns and gives you so much information on how to help.
I have been seeing Dr. Sharpe going on 12 years now. In all that time I’ve never had an unpleasant experience. Every session I’ve had with Dr. Sharpe has made me feel heard, understood and most of all comfortable. The office environment itself is very soothing. His receptionists Michelle has always been kind, helpful and provides service with a smile! (Which is rare these days!) It is important to note that this office is a private practice (does not accept insurance as far as I know.) Each visit is full price BUT for the quality of care it’s absolutely WORTH IT! I have seen other doctors in the very distant past. My experience with them was not ideal. I highly recommend Dr. Sharpe for those in need of quality care.
I’ve been a patient of Dr Sharpe’s for a few years and he’s been far and away the best psychiatrist I’ve had, and I’ve had a few since I’ve lived in different parts of the country. He’s empathetic, smart, and professional. He seems to genuinely care and has never came off as condescending and I deeply appreciate that. I highly recommend him to others.
I recently had my first interaction with Dr. Sharpes office and they are A+ First Class, caring and compassionate. Michelle is the very best!! Her follow up and assistance is second to none. Highly recommend !!!
I’ve been seeing doctor Sharpe for a couple years and I can tell you that he and his staff go the extra distance to make sure you’re taken care of. He is compassionate and truly cares about your well being. Highly recommend!
Dr. Sharpe is a compassionate, kind doctor. It has been an absolute privilege being a beneficiary of his services over the past 8 months. Prior to Dr. Sharpe’s services, I was nearly at rock bottom. After months of unemployment, I had finally managed to land a good job. However, due to the crippling anxiety, depression & existentialism I was experiencing, & had been for quite some time, I nearly undermined myself. I finally decided to pursue long needed professional guidance. Shortly after I completed & submitted my New Patient Intake Questionnaire & Guidelines/Policies, I was contacted by Dr. Sharpe’s lovely practice manager Michelle, informing me that Dr. Sharpe would like to see me. I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Sharpe for 1 hour on 01/12/2021 & anxiously awaited our first session. During my initial psychiatric evaluation, I could barely utter a coherent sentence due to my anxiety. I left our session with a Generalized Anxiety Disorder diagnosis, a prescription for Desvenlafaxine & thinking that Dr. Sharpe must’ve regretted taking me on as a patient. What a waste of his time. Why am I so stupid? Anyone who struggles with anxiety can understand such thoughts. I was later diagnosed with ADHD. Discovering the possibility of having ADHD was the driving force that finally compelled me to pursue a diagnosis & treatment. After months of research, both online as well as investigating my own past, going as far ascontacting a former elementary school teacher who suspected & expressed that I may have had a learning disability, it felt as if I had finally had an answer to all of my woes. And, to an extent, it was an answer to some, but certainly not all. As winter turned into spring & spring into summer, I continued visiting with Dr. Sharpe. Our primary objective in meeting once monthly was for medication management. I can happily say that I have recently tapered off of my anti-depressant medication. The side effects in which I’ve experienced; fatigue, irritability, brain fog, etc. have been very subtle. I very much so appreciate Dr. Sharpe’s low & slow approach when it comes to medication prescribing. Psychiatric medications are no joke. Dr. Sharpe’s accountable & compassionate medication management is indicative of his desire for the patients wellness being the top priority. I’ve lost forty pounds in nearly five months. I’ve developed, & am continuing to do so, better habits as well as carved out more structure to my days. Essential for an ADHD brain like mine. Dr. Sharpe is always reminding me of the importance of quality sleep in relation to one’s mental health. I try to ensure that I get at least 7-7½ hours of sleep at minimum each night. As aware as I am of the personal effort it took to get to where I am currently, I can confidently say that Dr. Sharpe has played an integral role in the transformation I’ve experienced. I still have a lot left to unpack; however, I am overall contented by my current standing in life. Especially compared to where I began my treatment. I now meet with Dr. Sharpe once monthly primarily for psychotherapy. I always look forward to being in his presence & talking with him. He listens with intent & I feel comfortable being vulnerable with him, allowing him insight to very personal experiences & thoughts in which I’ve never shared with anyone else. The only “negative” I can speak to is simply not having enough time. Sessions can at times feel slightly rushed. And that’s not necessarily Dr. Sharpe’s fault as much as it is me attempting to fit in as much into a 30 minute session as possible. Although I have an awareness of how busy Dr. Sharpe is, I selfishly wish I could have more time with him. It always feels as if we’re right on the cusp of a flow or breakthrough, only for the clock to strike midnight all too soon. Nonetheless, simply being able to meet with Dr. Sharpe in the brief time that I am allotted is appreciated beyond measure. Much love, Logan
*This is my experience with Dr Sharpe and his private practice - severe anxiety here. I recently moved back to Nashville to be with family after resigning from a very stressful career. (Not millennial stressful, finance and banking management) I found Dr Sharpe after enlisting some help from some health professional friends. Getting an appointment was difficult at first, especially dealing with anxiety issues and that feeling of wanting to just give up - but please don't. His staff were very helpful with the opportunities and a cancellation came up and let me know very quickly. His office is downtown at St. Thomas but its very mellow, quiet and the wonder receptionist-office manager offered me some water. I've been for 2 visits, 3rd scheduled for next week. He did, as far as I know of any mental health professional I have ever seen, the most comprehensive, but low key medical history I've had: Weight, BP, checked for tremors, looked at my eyes and even teeth, discussed past medications and had a frank discussion about a plan forward. I think one of the best things, personally as it may be different for you as I'm very task and routine driven, he writes note cards for you. This is what we are doing, start with this and if a or b happens, try this and see if it helps or gets worse. If this happens, call me, we'll address it. This last week I drove from Nashville to Atlanta when two months ago I couldn't hardly leave the house. If you are looking for a new Dr, give this practice a chance if you can't get an immediate appointment. It's worth it.
If you are in the Nashville area, your search for mental healthcare should stop with Dr. Sharpe. All of the rave reviews for him and his office are very well deserved. He is the most caring, kind, and understanding Doctor I've ever been to. His office is very nice and comfortable. His staff is top notch and the nicest you'll meet. Plain and simple - Dr. Sharpe is the best.
Dr. Sharpe has been treating my wife for a few years. After other doctors had treated her with questionable success, since she has been with Dr. Sharpe, her condition has been unquestionably stabilized. She's back to being the woman I've always known. His care has been instrumental in my wife's recovery and I can heartily recommend him to anyone who needs effective treatment.
