I've been seen by Dr. Mark Taylor in The Edinburgh Practice for around 3 years. The Practice is very clean and the staff are very polite and kind. The environment ensures a sense of comfort and safety. Everyone there is very professional and show a willingness to help. Communication is also very effective and shows great organization. I strongly recommend going here if you are looking for a great and efficient mental health clinic composed of very kind people.

The calm, warm and welcoming Edinburgh practice has been super from the start. It came highly recommended by friends. I really liked how you could submit your case history up front and the clinical team would then find the best fit to suit your needs. Dr Taylor has been outstanding. His deep knowledge and wry sense of humour have helped greatly with understanding and acceptance of my new diagnoses. His depth of experience, ongoing research and prescribing beyond medicine have been so helpful in equal measure. I cannot recommend Dr Taylor and the practice highly enough.

Waste of time and money. Got no answers, no results and no help. I felt the psychiatrist I seen just lead me on, half an hour sessions that were mainly focused on what medications I can take before being diagnosed or fully getting to know my problems (I did make it VERY clear in the first session with him that I was not wanting medication without knowing what was wrong.) I was then advised to see a psychologist for ADHD, however, the psychiatrist said he would refer me in one session, forgot, and then it was his "homework" in the next session. Not only did he forget about the psychologist referral he was late on more than one occasion to an appointment with not one apology. I can appreciate that he may of had another client before hand and these can run over, however, a full looking costa cup is not a client. The psychologist I seen I felt was also a waste of time. I have since seen the mental health specialist at my GP practice for free who has been more beneficial and set me on a better path, with the edinburgh practice I felt lead on and like I was going no where. I have since gotten an ADHD diagnosis, which is a start, for much cheeper and a much more efficent practice. Do your research there are much better places to spend your money.

Was discharged from their care because my mental health needs were too complex. Sorry, what? Surely that would require more treatment, not the withdrawal of treatment? Left high and dry with nobody and nothing to help me. Bleak. Edit - I wasn't a 'potential new client' as suggested by the reply. I was an existing client, dropped like a stone to drown in the ocean.

I really enjoyed the care I received at The Edinburgh Practice. The administrative staff are quite courteous and very responsive, and my psychologist (Anu Shekhar) and psychiatrist (Zia Nadeem) were both excellent practitioners. Throughout my time seeing her, Dr. Shekhar approached our sessions with care, empathy, and patience. She expertly supported me as I faced challenges and triumphs, teaching relevant fundamentals from CBT and DBT when appropriate. Dr. Nadeem was very practical and explained everything very well, which I appreciated, especially when trying to navigate the challenging waitlist for the NHS. I highly recommend choosing The Edinburgh Practice for any psychological or psychiatric needs, the team is superb and has excellent guides for the path to mental health!

Despite some excellent clinical staff who were great with our two boys, the practice has been honestly a horrible experience in the last 2 years. Lost prescriptions, revenue first, incorrect names on reports and letters, slow and inaccurate administration constantly. I’ve complained by email 3 times and never once received a response, even when clearly addressed to the practice manager. Private clinics are expensive and it’s a reality for us that have so long to wait with the NHS that we’ve no other option. But for the incredible cost of the clinic, I’d expect a level of service that matched. Our experience is a high cost service with rock bottom service. Such a shame because the clinical staff have been wonderful.

I recently had an ADHD assessment with another provider online and have started titration of medication at The Edinburgh Practice and I am very impressed so far at their professionalism and their treatment costs are reasonable compared to other providers. Their admin team are kind and understanding and I have felt welcomed every time I have attended the practice so far. I would recommend anyone considering medication for an ADHD diagnosis to contact them.

The Edinburgh Practice came highly recommended to me from a friend. I cannot fault this practice, from my original call to find out more about their services to my first appointment was all very smooth. Their website is also very helpful with lots of videos around the different types of services that they offer, and is very user friendly. Fantastic all round and I am looking forward to continuing my journey with them.

Excellent service in all aspects, admin team were very friendly and informative and made sure they covered all queries with me. The practice itself is welcoming & comforting. I felt at ease during my first appointment, listened to and understood. Would highly recommend The Edinburgh Practice.

Very unprofessional. I requested a quote to carry out a capacity assessment. I was quoted £370 to carry out an assessment 'in practice'. I booked the assessment for 22nd Sept 2025 and received an invoice for £370. At the same time I received an email advising an appointment fee of £1125. When I queried this I was told - 'our process for capacity assessments has changed' - and - 'I will void the invoice currently raised but keep the appointment in the diary as is and will be in touch as soon as I have received an update from our Clinical Lead'. That was on 11th Set 2025 for an appointment on 22nd Sep 2025. At this point I had made very difficult and delicate arrangements to attend the appointment. One FULL WEEK later, on 18th Sep 2025, I received an apologetic confirmation of cancellation of the appointment with a variety of reasons. At NO point was I told of any qualifying issues in respect of the assessment - it was a fixed-fee service. This has caused significant distress to an already-distressed patient - you should be ashamed!
