Excellent place to go for a massage. I've been at least 5 times and its been near perfect every time. The beds are comfy, they don't spray or burn anything with a strong scent in the rooms or the place in general, and the don't play annoying music that makes you feel like your on hold for your entire appointment. It is very relaxing and is a good cure for some mental overload.
I went here about 18 months ago now and it is still memorably one of the worst massages I have ever had. I asked for relaxation massage, told the therapist I had just flown to UK from New Zealand which is a 30ish hour long journey, including 26 hours of flying across two long flights. My back and neck was very sore from sitting on the plane and I wanted some release. The lady giving me massage did not check in about how much pressure she was using, as is standard practise, and I had to ask her twice to go less hard. She seemed annoyed each time I spoke up, so I stopped asking despite it still being too much pressure. I am a small person and it felt more like a remedial or Thai massage, on a body that absolutely was not ready to receive anything that intense. The amount of pressure she was using may have been appropriate for a bigger person but she pressed so hard I could hardly breath half the time and then to my utter frustration, when I was clearly in discomfort and not relaxed at all she said “normally by now my clients have fallen asleep” as if it was somehow my problem that her massage technique sucked so bad. Overall she seemed unenthusiastic and like she couldn’t wait to see the back of me even before she began the massage. I booked 90min but the massage only lasted about 75, which I didn’t complain about because honestly I also just wanted to get out of there and never return. I was in massive pain for a week following this massage, and ended up getting another one somewhere else specifically to mitigate the pain caused by this lady at Ruan Mai. This massage was so bad it has lived rent free in my head for over a year, so much so that I’ve decided to leave this review so long after my visit. My suggestion to anyone considering this establishment, pay 10-20 pound more and go somewhere else. You’ll suffer here.
Very proffesional maseous ,My was Son. I felt much much better after first session of neck and back massage. Clean place, pleasant atmosphere .Helpful stuff. I will go back. Highly recommending this massage center.👏👍
I booked a 1.5 hour hot stone massage here after I had been to Edinburgh to sit an exam. It was just what I needed after some stressful weeks and a lot of time sat travelling and sat down. I had a lovely lady called Sorn who gave really effective firm massage. I like that they check in with you throughout to make sure you are happy with the pressure, as I'm not someone who is confident to ask to change partway through.
I had my first massage here in August during Fringe and I came to Edinburgh with my teenage daughter for Christmas and booked a massage for us on Boxing Day. It was brilliant. My daughter loved hers too. Highly recommend!
Amazing massage. Myself and my work colleagues went here last year during a tough build we were doing im George St. It was so good we have made it an annual thing to reset tired bodies and achy muscles. We all had the deep tissue massage with stretching. Well worth every penny.
I got Thai Deep Tissue Oil Massage. The massage was great, thanks to masseuse. The massage area has shower room if you want to remove the oil after massage. The room is quiet, relaxing and warm. This my second time going there so my only concern was the staff who said that I know what to do when I was directed to my room. Yes, it was not my first time to have massage but I forgot that I have to lie down in my tummy. Overall, staffs are friendly. The Amex was not working when I went there but they were already working on it as per the receptionist.
I had the most incredible foot massage ever. I fell asleep because of how relaxing it was and woke up a brand new person. I felt like I was walking in cloud 9 after the massage. I’ve gotten so many massages and this was the best. I wish I could travel back to Edinburgh just to get another treatment here. Amazing hospitality as well.
I was recommended to visit here by my daughter following her own visit, so I booked in today for a 90min deep tissue hot oil massage at the very reasonable cost of £75. I had the pleasure of receiving the treatment by the talented and strong Kate. I've not had a massage for many years and I had never had a Thai style massage. My body was full of knots. She was extremely firm (at my request) and made sure I was okay with the pressure being used throughout the massage, my body is sore tonight, however, thats definitely part of the process of breaking down years knots caused by my own neglect and something I expected. The front desk gentleman was very welcoming, helpful and professional, the treatment room was clean, the temperature was perfect and the soothing music also added to a calming environment. I'll 100% be back for more treatment in the future, My wife is also interested to visit for treatment now too. Thank you Kate and co. for a wonderful and first of many Thai massage experience. Keith. Ill
I was very happy with my experience here. After a long flight, my back was hurting. I tried calling but my phone wasn’t cooperating so I decided to walk in. It’s about a 5 minute walk from Waverley station. I was greeted warmly and they had availability for a massage right away. I got a 90 minute oil and Thai combo massage and it was excellent. Wee did a great job. The massage was heavy pressure, and she really worked on my problem areas. I was very happy and left feeling great. Would return!
