To train for the Edinburgh half marathon, I had five appointments with Robbie from October '25–January '26 – to address knee and shin pain and long-standing tension in my hamstring after an injury a few years ago. He really understands how the body works and focuses on getting a full picture of all the interconnected parts, something which previous physios had failed to do. The treatment he gave me was simple and therefore feasible (involving foam rolling and resistance band work) - with consistency, it has helped me get back to a standard of running I wasn't sure would be possible, overcome discomfort, and build confidence. And it has really lifted my mood. Thanks! My only suggestion is that it might help to clearly run through the plan and timings for the hour at the start of each session, how it fits into the overall care, and update that at the end, so that expectations are aligned.

Very good. Understands a lot about neurodivergent people and their different needs. Has worked in a supermarket so understands the physiological demands that has on the body. Not just another sports physio in Edinburgh that only understands professional athletes

I visited Robbie at his clinic for treatment of my chronic ankle pain, and the experience was outstanding. His assessment was extremely detailed and thorough, and his depth of knowledge especially in anatomy and biomechanics really stood out. As a physiotherapist myself, I’m quite particular about clinical reasoning and treatment approaches, and I was genuinely impressed by Robbie’s understanding of concepts and his ability to explain the “why” behind everything he does. The session was not just treatment, but a true learning experience. Because of his expertise and mentorship, I am now training under him, which says a lot about the level of respect I have for his skills and knowledge. I would strongly recommend Robbie to both athletes and non-sporting individuals alike anyone looking for high-quality, evidence-based care. Highly recommend!

I’m leaving this review to give a full picture of my experience, since I can’t respond to the clinic’s comment after editing. I came here for 3 sessions over several weeks due to severe hip/lower-back pain that has now lasted 9 weeks. After the first session I reported temporary relief for a few hours before the pain returned. After the second session, my symptoms noticeably worsened — which I communicated immediately via WhatsApp voice notes. Because the pain increased so significantly after the second session, I booked what became an emergency session for the third visit. During that appointment, the therapist offered me a refund if the symptoms did not improve going forward. I appreciated that and took it as a sign of confidence in the treatment. However, after explaining that the pain had continued to deteriorate — even more than before starting treatment — the therapist later denied the refund entirely, saying he believed I had “visibly improved,” despite my repeated reports of increased pain. For clarity: • Yes, I was late to two sessions due to the severity of the pain affecting my mobility. • Yes, I tried one gentle stretch on my own after the pain had already increased. • No, my symptoms did not improve — they worsened significantly after the second session and continued to decline. • At this point, I have had to seek GP care, am starting nerve-pain medication, and have been referred for MRI assessment. My concern is not the refund itself — it’s the dismissal of what I clearly communicated, and the contradiction between offering a refund during the session and then later denying that offer entirely. I’m sharing this so others can make informed choices, and so expectations around guarantees and patient feedback remain transparent.

I can’t thank Robbie enough for helping me recover from a meniscus tear. From the first appointment he was warm, welcoming, and really easy to talk to. He explained everything clearly and built a rehab plan that actually worked. Every session was encouraging, positive, and focused on real progress — I went from struggling to walk properly to being fully active again. Robbie’s knowledge, care, and personable approach made a huge difference. Couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Robbie is the best! He's incredibly knowledgeable, and really makes the effort to help! I had a pulled muscle with some pretty rough neck pain, and he fit me in for a same day appointment even though he was already on the way home. He was very thorough, and made sure he knew the exact problem specifically before he treated me. It helped immediately, and the exercises he gave me were game changing for my long-term back/shoulder/neck issues.

Robbie has really helped my injured hip. He is really clear when talking through the issues and explaining problems. He is very respectful when manipulating limbs. The exercise regime he has offered is well thought through and definitely making a difference. The therapy space is pristine with a beautiful calming outlook. Thanks Robbie - will recommend to anyone seeking a good physio
