I worked with Maya for 2.5 years. Throughout this time, I’ve witnessed huge transformation in my internal world. I’m leaving therapy with greater recognition of and acceptance of who I am. I sought out Maya for her expertise in Attachment Theory, as I was beset with debilitating anxiety in my first relationship. Maya supported me in learning how to soothe myself and helped me challenge unkind thoughts and build a more loving relationship with myself. She helped me to identify my needs without outsourcing them to another. This gave me the tools to navigate new relationships with new skills and I’m grateful to say that I no longer suffer such debilitating anxiety in my current relationship. After a period of time, my goals in therapy shifted from healing my attachment wounding to generally getting to know myself better, exploring my beliefs, emotions and thoughts deeply, including my sexuality. This was an incredibly rewarding journey and has lead me to greater self understanding and acceptance of who I am. Many of the themes touched upon revolved around self worth and confidence - and I feel grateful for the growth that has occurred in these areas. During my time working with Maya, I experienced several significant losses and academic challenges. While a part of me hoped that I would feel better at the end of every session and this wasn’t always the case, I am nonetheless immensely grateful for the ways in which Maya supported me through these difficult times. I feel I’ve learnt so much that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. This was enabled by Maya’s great sensitivity and empathy that created a safe space for me to openly explore my inner world without judgement. Her practical advice and reassurance regarding difficulties with university learning was invaluable.

I worked with Maya throughout much of the Covid-19 pandemic while living abroad, away from many friends and family. Maya provided a safe space to work through the difficulties that presented, as well as past traumas, for which I am forever grateful. I am forever grateful for her expertise, compassion, and empathy, which have helped me to continue make a positive impact on my life and those around me.

I undertook psychotherapy with Maya in 2022 over a 7 month period. This was a remarkable experience for me that truly had a transformational impact upon my life. Maya's skills as a therapist are exceptional. I felt safe to be vulnerable through high levels of trust, openness and honesty. I appreciated the balance between the psychological safety and support for my journey as well as the challenge to my thinking that resulted in some personal breakthroughs. I feel I am now the person I'm supposed to be and have clarity on the life I want to live. I would not hesitate to recommend Maya as therapist. Thank you Maya.

During a time of significant life transition compounded by the illness of one partner, my spouse and I turned to the guidance of a therapist - Maya. As we grappled with the physical and emotional toll of illness, Maya provided us with a safe haven where we could freely express our fears, frustrations, and hopes. Maya helped us address the emotional impact of illness on both of us. Her expertise, compassion, and profound understanding of the human experience have been a lifeline for us.

Upon a recommendation of a trusted friend, I started working with Maya. My goal was to get some support in navigating the unique challenges of parenting a son with ADHD during his primary school years. Maya's knowledge and understanding of ADHD and other learning difficulties, and its impact on children's development and academic success helped me widen my own perceptions. Maya approached our sessions with a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude, providing me with the tools, knowledge, and strategies (books too!) to effectively support my son's growth and navigate the complexities of his education. Maya took the time to listen attentively and thoroughly understand our family dynamics. Her continuous support instilled a sense of confidence and optimism within me, enabling me to approach parenting challenges with a renewed sense of resilience.

Dealing with burnout, stress and relationship problems had taken its toll on me, my partner and our relationship. We were seeking professional help that could accomodate our busy schedule and we were lucky to find Maya online. Maya's understanding of our difficulties and empathic approach created a safe and non-judgmental space that encouraged open communication, enabling my partner and me to express our concerns and frustrations honestly. Maya's expertise in both burnout and relationship dynamics was evident as she helped us navigate through the complex issues we faced. Maya provided some practical tools and strategies to manage stress, helping me regain a sense of balance in my life. In terms of our relationship she shared insightful effective communication techniques and facilitated constructive dialogue between my partner and me which helped build a stronger bond between us. The convenience of online counselling played a crucial role in our experience. Despite being physically distant, the counsellor's presence and attentiveness were felt throughout the sessions. I wholeheartedly recommend Maya's services to anyone seeking a therapist.
