I’ve been seeing Nick for over a decade now and he’s amazing! I had spinal surgery in 2015 and he rehabilitated me when I couldn’t even activate my core at all. I have hypermobility syndrome and am prone to re-injury. I’ve since moved to London and then Margate and when my back is bad enough, come back to Edinburgh to see Nick and he’s the only physio who can actually help. I’ve recommended him to friends (in Edinburgh and beyond). He’s really incredible! In 2024, I injured my back lifting a plant and had some nerve issue that was causing weakness in my calf just before I was meant to run a half marathon and had no time to come to Edinburgh. Nick kindly saw me via video and gave me some exercises that relieved the pressure on my nerve and I was able to run. It also saved me from having a nerve block! This year, I almost cancelled a holiday but he saw me via video and gave me exercises to tie me over until I got back again, and I made it through and saw him when I got back. He takes a holistic approach which is so appreciated and sees where I might be twisted or where my back is adapting for weakness and gives exercises to help (alongside some manual adjustments for immediate relief). Honestly go to Nick, you won’t regret it! He’s so incredible!!
Myself and other family members have been to Nicholas (e-physiotherapy) many times over the past 15 years, for a range of conditions including back, hand, shoulder, ankle/foot and every time he has been able to diagnosis, treat and alleviate symptoms extremely promptly. I could not recommend him highly enough.
Highly recommend Nick as a physiotherapist if you're experiencing back pain/sciatica. He's an experienced and thorough practitioner and he takes the time to find the right kind of exercises for his patients. We started very small and kept adding on new exercises (mostly Pilates based) to build strength and balance, particularly in the lower back and belly area. I've worked with him for 6 months in total and thanks to his exercises and approach I've gained a lot of my strength, mobility and balance back after a very painful lower back disk bulge. Thank you Nick!
I cannot recommend Nicholas enough. I was initially urgently looking for a physio who did home visits, and the fact that Nicholas is Australian was an additional interest for me, as I know they produce great physios down under. Years ago, disastrous cervical manipulations by local reckless osteopaths lead to the deactivation of most of my core muscles, including in the neck. The freak injury. Last year things got even worse when I dislocated my head/neck top joint, resulting in a scary muscular cranio cervical big unstability coupled with high loss of muscle tone/mass. I was 90% bedridden with terrifying symptoms. The future did not look bright at all as I did not know how to solve my situation. I came across Nicholas's website 8 months ago and he has helped me since during regular home visits rebuild strength and stability in my neck while paying careful attention to avoid triggering these awful symptoms. He also shows me how to re align my cervicals myself. His method is very hands on and his approach unlike any of all the local physios I consulted over the years. It is a long and tedious journey, but thanks to him I now feel a lot stronger and I am able to go for 35 mins long walks alone. I can now do my exercises on my own without fear of damaging my neck arteries! I am incredibly grateful for his limitless patience, experience and knowledge, his professionalism and friendly Aussie can-do attitude.
Thanks to Nicholas' thorough approach and the exercises he gave me, my right arm is now fully functional and pain free! Nicholas put his deep knowledge base to great work during my visits. I am so relieved to have full use of my arm back, with no pain and will not hesitate to return to his care as needed. I highly recommend Nicholas!
I cannot recommend Nick highly enough he is an excellent Physiotherapist who I first met 15 years ago pre & post my shoulder operation, Nick was key to my recovery. Recently I have had another issue with my shoulder & have been back seeing Nick for past few months as knew if anyone was going to resolve my problem it would be him. Nick is very professional & extremely knowledgeable, you can rely on him to get to the bottom of your issue.
I've picked up several aches and pains from playing sport over the years, and Nicholas has successfully alleviated pain and improved flexibility on several ailments including a tight hip flexor and a partial rotator cuff tear of the shoulder. I've also had specialist treatment involving acupuncture to release jaw pressure caused by nerve damage from a tumour. The session is always carried out with a reassuring running commentary of what to expect as you are poked and prodded, plus tips to prevent re-occurrence of the injury. An extremely friendly and professional service, his expertise is second-to-none. Highly recommended.
I genuinely cannot recommend Nick highly enough. I’ve been to see him about different issues over the past few years and each time, the issue has been very quickly identified and treated, with excellent aftercare advice. Each issue was resolved in a single visit, without the need or insistence of multiple follow up visits being required. He is a multi-skilled professional with a deep understanding of sports-related issues (amongst other things) and he provides honest, helpful and insightful information and opinion. I have sent a number of friends to him, all of whom have also had positive outcomes from their treatment too.
I first came across e-physiotherapy after experiencing severe pain in my neck, arm and shoulder which was keeping me up at night. Nicholas is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly identified the issue and he made sure to give me a realistic timeline for recovery. Nicholas mapped out a course of treatment and gave me at-home exercises which led me to a full recovery. I am very thankful to Nicholas to get me back to normal and I recommend e-physiotherapy to anyone who is looking for an excellent physiotherapist in Edinburgh.
I have been working with Nicholas of E-Physiotherapy for just under 9 months now. I ended up meeting him through a friend of a friend. But I actually met him a great few years ago when I first hurt my back about 10years ago. Anyway his approach is different to others and first off has a detailed and thorough assessment that he does on his first session. Everything is noted down on his computer each session as you go along and progress with your changes in movement/injury and rehab. That part alone stands him in good stead in my eyes. Secondly he is extremely up-to-date on current practices, research and knowledge going to conferences most months around the globe to meet up with professionals in different fields in the medical profession and physio profession. I have been to many physio's and therapists over the years and none have given such a good gradual, step by step and progressive approach, everything is building on the last thing you did like a pyramid you work on your foundations first then slowly build on them to build to more complex movements and challenging rehab exercises. There is a big emphasis on you doing the work. Do not expect to just lie there and be massaged for an hour. You will be moving and really working hard to correct your movement patterns and engaging the right muscles as you do them. Its hard and its a struggle because your not used to engaging them or being in certain positions but it does get better. The key is to give it time and continually work on your movement every single day. No days off. It is a long term approach, not merely days or weeks but over a couple months or so. Working with Nicholas has been great for me as a young Personal Trainer/Coach to help develop my knowledge of the spine and the shoulder which we have been working on and it has helped massively to develop my understanding of Scapula/Humeral rhythm, the muscles involved and the sequence although not completely mastered my knowledge and confidence of assessing and correcting bad shoulder mechanics has improved massively and has given me the confidence to go fourth further and improve my knowledge and understanding of the shoulder and spine more. On top of this as a coach who focuses on the detail of technique and mechanics it really was humbling to come to someone who absolutely schooled me at being able to see things that I couldn't see in my movement and highlight things on my understanding that were just plain wrong or incorrect or outdated. This makes it that much more important to have good experienced, knowledgeable and up-to-date professionals around you to support you in your practice and service as I have always used the skills and knowledge and experiences of more mature coaches and professionals to improve myself and what I am trying to achieve at #BOBSGARAGE. With my own clients and members I have and continue to refer them to him when their movement issue is out of my scope of practice or I just don't have the solution, then I put my hands up and say I am not sure how to solve this and refer them out to Nicholas to benefit from his skill set and knowledge, understanding and experience as a physiotherapist. He will see them and then directly feedback to me on what is going on with them and then I in turn will feed that back into their program to help progress, rehab and develop their training. He is a real asset to be able to call on for my service and I am really happy I have him as one of my trusted professionals to rely on and refer out to. I would highly recommend going to see Nicholas if you have an injury just now, or maybe you want to improve your movement and performance or a constant niggle that you continually have contact him now.
