Providence Treatment Center has a truly compassionate and dedicated team who truly cares for their patients in difficult seasons of life. The staff is professional, respectful, and clearly cares about the people they serve. It’s encouraging to see a place where kindness, support, and hope are such an important part of the environment in a treatment facility.
This place has been a terrible experience for our family. Don't believe anything they tell you at intake. They'll say whatever will get you to sign up with them and not follow through on what they tell you. The only reason my husband is staying sober is because he's on medication for drinking. I'm certain he would be drinking otherwise and I'm not 100% sure he is sober. He's emotionally abusive towards me and he's okay having no relationship with his children. This was a person who was a loving dad. His behavior has become worse since being in their program and working with the counselor here. Sadly, it's become so bad I'm now filing for divorce because it's become unbearable dealing with him. I reached out to his counselor 3 times by email and called him once to share info about what we were seeing and how bad it's gotten. Never heard back. My husband takes no accountability, still blames me for all his problems, and has become increasingly narcissistic and mentally abusive. With no improvement to his mental wellbeing, it's like we're still dealing with the same alcoholic as before he went in, but now he's even worse because he argues he's getting better as he's being mentally abusive. They took him from IOP to OP even though this is how he is to his family. Again, the drugs are the only reason he's not drinking, not their program. Clearly family is not an important part of the rehabilitation process for this facility, nor is long term sobriety. Keep that in mind if you are looking here and look elsewhere. Also, look closely at the few positive reviews you see here. They're from people who deal with them professionally - a yoga instructor, accupuncturist, and another therapist. These people are also leaving multiple reviews at their various locations. In my opinion a reputable and effective facility wouldn't need to boost their reviews.
When signing up for their IOP, I was concerned about pricing, and was told I would be notified prior to treatment if the bill/copay was over $20 per session. They made a mistake and never sent me my verification of benefits, and only received it after my first bill was sent where I was being charged $80 a session. They stated that this should not have happened and only occurred because the person who is meant to send it over "was on vacation break during my enrollment time". They admitted it was a mistake on their end. When trying to get clarification, one of the head of the organizations, Gabe, repeatedly misquoted me and kept saying "no one told you it would be $20". He also blamed me for not understanding my insurance benefits (as if they're meant to make sense to people), and ignored the fact I had asked about pricing prior because I wasn't able to comprehend what my benefits were. He told me "that's on you, don't blame anyone else" after admitting they made a mistake in not sending my VOB which was created two weeks prior to the start of my treatment. Having that conversation with Gabe was astonishing how unprofessional, combative, and rude he was, and the inability to listen was shocking given the repeated misquoting and attempts to correct him. It's sad they acknowledge they made a mistake but still expect me to front the $2000+ bill when I would have avoided getting in this situation if they had done what they said they would. Will and Meritt (the therapists) were great, but wow was the admin horrible (as well as their billing department when saying some incorrect things). For someone looking for help, the leaders of the organization definitely don't seem to want to provide it and just want their money. Would strongly recommend against this for IOP unless your insurance fully covers it. Edit: Most of these reviews are made by staff members of the organization, which is a clear conflict of interest and should be reported to Google for false advertisement.
