I began seeing Isaac in April of last year, and had regular appointments until November, about 8 months. In those 8 months, I expected Isaac to get to know me at least reasonably well. For example, I am an amateur chess player, and I brought in a book about my favorite player to our second appointment. Several weeks later, Isaac asks "have you ever played chess?" Not only was this a genuine question, as if we had never spoken about this topic before, but also I was wearing a t-shirt with a pawn on the chest, right in his field of view. Not only that, this same instance happened AGAIN! On another appointment weeks after THIS incident, Isaac asks if I've ever played chess before, as if I had never spoken the word "chess" out loud in my life. If Isaac cannot be bothered to learn the basic information about his clients, how can he be trusted to solve the problems of trauma, abuse, addiction, and other serious mental health crises??? Why does he bother taking notes if he can't even glance at them to figure out if his patient likes a board game??? Thus, I cannot in good faith recommend Isaac Garfield, or any of his services, to anyone for any reason. Seek help elsewhere.
Isaac is a skillful, compassionate and creative therapist. He brings a rich array of life experience, trainings and deep personal growth work to his practice.
Isaac is an excellent cognitive behavioral therapist. He is warm, compassionate, & is effective in treating many issues, including OCD, depression, and a range of anxiety disorders. I recommend him highly!
Isaac is extremely dedicated to his clients. A considerate, respectful, dynamic, and knowledgeable professional. Super personable. Would recommend him to my closest friends & family for his services.
I met Issac at an event for health care providers and instantly was drawn to his kindness and intuitiveness and I was taken by the type of practice he has. I have referred many a patient to him and can easily discuss with him patients we have in common. He is smart, patient and thinks outside the box. I would happily send anyone into his capable hands.
I have been a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and social work instructor for many years. I am extremely grateful to have Isaac to refer to. He has done excellent work supporting the teenage and young adult sons of some of my clients. He is a friendly, comfortable person to be with, is very well trained, and incorporates mindfulness practices into his work as appropriate. He is committed to and knowledgeable about men's issues, running groups as well as working with individuals and couples. He is an outdoor enthusiast and has led guided therapeutic walks. I strongly and enthusiastically endorse Isaac!
Isaac is a talented and compassionate therapist. I have referred numerous clients to him over the years and consistently have had positive experiences. He listens with a keen ear and is up to date on the latest techniques in the field. I have been both a therapist and clinical educator for 26 years I would highly recommend him.
Isaac helped my brother greatly when no one else could. He has a unique ability to connect and guide even the most difficult or lost clients. I am so grateful.
Isaac is a highly skilled and intuitive psychotherapist. I have professionally collaborated with Isaac over the past 10 years. I have watched as he skillfully and easily supports individuals, families, and groups. He has a unique ability to connect with clients and help them feel safe. He draws out each clients strengths as he guides them on their own unique journey. Isaac is very sharp and aware. He will gently address patterns that need attention with the skill and grace of a well seasoned psychotherapist. I refer to Isaac often.
Isaac is an experienced therapist who works with clients where they’re at and creates a healing relationship using skills and techniques he’s learned in his many years of practice. I’ve lead men’s groups with Isaac for a year and a half and all clients have expressed healing and growth in their ability to communicate and strengthen the relationships they focus on in the group.
