I was extremely disappointed by my time at High Focus. This was the second IOP I've done, and I know how helpful group therapy and IOP's in general can be when you are in your darkest moments. High Focus lacked structure, the therapists seem to lack training and lacked coordination with each other. One therapist literally said "Sounds like you have depression figured out"..??!!?!? The psychiatrists here also did not seem to care to get to know you, at all. Therapist Julianna was the only redeeming part of this place. Don't get me started on how much money I had to pay to be there either. There was no coordination helping me know whether it would be covered by my insurance or not, and I was certainly not in a place to be able to advocate for myself in that way. Would not recommend this place to anyone. It has been a while since my IOP, so hopefully they've gotten it together a bit.
5 stars for the DBT group- EXCELLENT. The skills are well taught and useful and the community is fantastic.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Two Therapists Who Helped Me Rebuild My Life: Marisela Hurtado (IOP) & Jiahao R. (PHP) When I first entered treatment, I was in one of the darkest and most fragile places I’d ever been. I was battling severe depression, overwhelming anxiety, constant panic attacks, and I could barely sleep two hours a night. Even moving around, taking showers or getting through the day without crying felt impossible. I was exhausted, scared, and losing hope. Then I met Marisela Hurtado in IOP and Jiahao R. in PHP—two people who became lifelines when I needed them most. They each played a powerful role in my healing. With a level of compassion and patience that was truly extraordinary, they created safe, steady spaces where I could finally open up about everything I was carrying. They listened to me, supported me, and guided me through emotions I didn’t even know how to express. They helped me feel seen, understood, and never once judged me for the weight I was under. Marisela and Jiahao didn’t just give me tools—they gave me hope. Marisela will treat and care for you like you are her family. They helped me work through my panic attacks, manage my anxiety, and slowly rebuild my strength. Their kindness, dedication, and belief in me were exactly what I needed during a time when I didn’t believe in myself at all. Because of their care, I’m sleeping better. My mind feels clearer. My anxiety is more manageable. I’m moving through life again instead of just surviving it. Marisela Hurtado and Jiahao R. are the second kind—exceptional, compassionate, and deeply committed to helping people heal. They are changes the lives of people in a positive way.
I don't normally write review but I had the most amazing experience and treatment and everything about it was great. Wonderful therapists, Admin, who really truly care about your life and getting better. From PHP to IOP was such a healing experience. I wish I had the words to express that when I finally finished treatment, I had a whole new life. Thank you, High Focus Centers. Karen M
I avoided group therapy for so long, but I am so glad I did. It was a safe place for me to go when I really wanted to isolate. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to relate to others, but I always found some connection that helped me not feel so alone. Marisela is the best! She has a great sense of humor, is so supportive, and there is no fake or toxic positivity with her. Mari also helped connect us with resources, which can feel so daunting when you are in the thick of it. If you are considering group, do it!
I participated in both PHP and IOP. I did PHP with Juliana as my main therapist and I cannot recommend her enough. She was so caring and insightful and truly made my time in group therapy a very enjoyable time. I graduated from PHP to IOP with Alexis and it has been such an uplifting experience so far. She does a great job commanding the group and making sure every voice is heard. Highly recommend High Focus Centers for both PHP and IOP.
I have been in Melissa’s young adult group for the past month and it has been a wonderful experience! She has an amazing way with words that have allowed me to think in ways that I haven’t before. She’s also a very kind person and really listens to everyone in the group when we are sharing or discussing anything. When I think of someone that’s a perfect fit for their job I’ll always think of Melissa even for years after I have finished with her group, she’s that impactful!
I participated in php here. It was a good experience overall, but the other group members were the biggest help. Pattie at the front desk is delightful and super helpful with logistical stuff. Sometimes it was a bit disorganized and a couple of the counselors were unhelpful, although other counselors had some good insights and useful activities.
I loved the therapist I had in my group therapy outpatient sessions but their billing department is absolutely incompetent, does not listen to you and incorrectly billed my insurance. I spoke with dozens of people, all of whom told me conflicting information, incorrect information. I have started to pay my bill so that my balance does not get sent to collections but they still have not corrected the error THEY made. It's been a truly infuriating experience and it was not worth the treatment. I could have definitely gotten the same care elsewhere without the absolutely horrible billing experience that honestly kept me up at night several times.
Don't go here no matter what. They didn't bill my insurance correctly and send my account to collections for 900$ for just three sessions. Such terrible experience. I asked them a million times if I have to pay out of pocket or if they were able to bill my insurance correctly. The receptionist said yes and now I have a negative remark on my credit report. Please do not go here at all. And the therapist was so bad too. Since then I have found a better therapist but I have never had such terrible experience with a mental health professional.
