Horrible sexual inappropriate conversation about dating Drs he is friends with, going through a divorce for adultery by my husband. This was Dr.Cohens therapy, I have problems with orgasms inappropriate need to examine trauma in that area. Advised being a mistress that is sexual degradation against moral standards and ethical standards that I was going to where unless a mistress which is against my belief I believe in marriage. Dr.Cohen was hurting me in a disadvantaged form breaking up with a wealthy single stock broker that I refused due to betrayals and abuse. Dr Cohen advise was to belittle myself as a mistress and ways of coerced that was scary and upsetting and depressed. Sexual abuse in anyway can cause suicide. This Dr study where and where was his self regard to me to stand positive for my rights and to Free myself from any relationship with sexual depression and to find a person of equality fairness and respect and support and compassion and kindness and commitment and communication. Dr Cohen was advising me to destroy myself. I never had therapy it was disturbing and he did hypnotic therapy. Once telling me the Dr next to him Dr S. Collabro was available with an understanding that his wife allowed cheating. Is this a Case for the DA to investigate such vicious attempts to destroy my self esteem when I was there by referral for an accident. I was young and mentally hurting and this Dr thought he could make me into a suicide case to promote sexual violence Hatred betrayal of marriage I was divorced from betrayal no one goes to therapy to get worse and depressed and a potential Law suit mak practice he should be investigated. It was my life to this Dr Cohen I have no idea what he was doing but he must have been messed up to act that way maybe getting anger out on me it was hateful information and I was so upset crying I took the wrong way home 2 hours lost. Horrible I was hurting and he took advantage of my injury. Broken dreams.
The doctor misdiagnosed me on purpose. If I could sue him and knew that he couldn't get out of it, I would.
So I had previously written a good review about him because he is a brilliant man, but after having several check-ups with him I've grown extremely frustrated. He calls me for 2 minutes (sometimes it literally is less than 2 minutes) to make small changes in my meds (if any) and refill them, and then charges me a full co-pay (for me, it's $40 and I'm a college student). Unfortunately he's the most reliable psych in Philly, so I don't have a choice in continuing to see him.
I used to love having Dr. Cohen as my psych. He's a very intelligent man and helped me greatly with getting my meds in order but he's extremely unorganized. His secretaries continue to mess up my prescriptions. They never send them to the pharmacy and forget to write in my appointments so often I couldn't even see Dr. Cohen. Mistakes like that have caused me to go through withdrawal (and if you know anything about that, you know it's very painful). I wish I could continue seeing Dr. Cohen but this is too unprofessional.
Yes, his office is messy, and you may be seen a little later than originally scheduled, but Dr. Cohen knows his stuff. After my evaluation, I was blown away by how intelligent he was. After answering all of his questions, he was able to reiterate everything I said almost verbatim, plus add incredible insight about additional things affecting my life that I was not even aware of at the time. He absolutely listens intently and is completely focused on your concerns and issues. Dr. Cohen undoubtedly cares about the wellbeing of his patients; this is not something that can be said about every doctor.
Dr. Cohen has helped me tremendously with my anxiety and panic disorder. He’s always been on time for my appointments also and is super sweet.
I love Dr. Cohen. He is very compassionate and intelligent! He has helped me greatly thus far!
There are a lot of bad reviews of Dr. Cohen. Yes he can be late often. He's a busy guy and is extremely intelligent. If you think medication will solve everything you are wrong. You have to work hard and change unhealthy lifestyle choices to make any progress including CBT. I suffer from Bipolar 2 and the man saved my life. He also took me on as a patient when no one else would. I would highly recommend him.
His hours work for students and people who work, if late hours don't work for you don't come to him. You can legitimately see his process as he evaluates you (since he says it out loud), he is very quick and to the point. He gets things done. It is annoying you must play a small part in your own evaluation, but he will get you the care you need.
I am a psych nurse. I came out of a major depression pretty quickly with the help of dr. Cohen. The man is actually very intelligent quit possibly a genius the way he diagnoses and treats his patients. He sees many many patients and work about 13 other jobs. He works for 12 different court systems representing the criminally insane. Most of his patients never go inpatient due to the fact that he sees them monthly. He stays up all night working in his office because he genuinely cares about people and is absolutely dedicated to being a psychiatrist and caring for the mentally I'll. You people are uneducated and should have considered yourselves lucky for even getting the opportunity to be his patient and that was absolutely your loss. I work with many psychiatrists and many very sick mentally I'll patients so I say this with much experience.
