This is a review of clinic policy, not my therapist (who's no longer with Serenity, but was great). In the Spring of 2022 I was having a crisis during Finals period, I disclosed that I was having intense ideation of no longer existing. I worded it that way to avoid triggers, but also because it was COMPLETELY passive, but was also temporarily enveloping me. I never had a plan, I was never close to taking action. However, because of this disclosure, Mary recommended that I get into an IOP. The IOP was great, but she also said that I could no longer see my therapist until I was enrolled. My chart showed that I had ADHD, progress notes showed the Wellbutrin wasn't treating the symptoms. They didn't help enroll me, didn't provide any patient support, just gave me a couple numbers to contact and sent me on my merry way with "no-contact" until I was enrolled. It took me 3 months to pick up the pieces of my life and finally enroll. When I came back to my therapist, I told him I felt like the decision was unethical and he agreed! I then went on to finish a degree that included a minor in counseling, and my intuition was right. What I learned in counseling classes directly contradicted the treatment policy that Serenity set for a case like this.

My therapist here is great and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Glad this place was recommended to me.

I had cousenling with Liz, she is all things lovely, understanding and helpful. She was able to create a comfortable and healthy environment both in session and in my mind. Liz helped me see myself through the dark times that I've had, and helped me stop focusing on others as well. She's patient and informative on the types of things that can help patients like me. All judemnets are left at the door.

I love the support I’ve received here and the sliding pay scale they offer for sessions.

Do not recommend if you have insurance coverage. Therapist refused to charge what the coverage amount was supposed to be; required payment of over 5 times. Was unable to get anyone in the office to investigate or respond to ?s. Needless to say, sessions were stopped because it was too stressful dealing with the overcharge issues every appointment.

Ann Hetzel is the worst therapist I have ever encountered. I have known quite a few, in the role as both a Social Worker and a CBT client myself. Anne changes jobs frequently due to her incompetence. She has diagnosed disorders without testing based on her opinion after a few sessions and has been unprofessional when dealing with clients and families. She doesn't keep clients or stay long at locations or jobs because her lack of skill, talent, and empathy that quickly becomes clear to her co-workers and her clients. Visit her more than 5 times and see how it works out.
