My therapist dropped me and handed me off to a much worse therapist to start this place. I got pushed to the side. It kinda messed me up for awhile. Life only got harder and I dealt with it alone because Margaret passed me off like every other therapist. Sorry I was too difficult for you, maybe learn more instead of dropping a client you've had for YEARS bc they have trauma and you made yourself too busy to handle that? If you cant handle trauma, maybe dont be a therapist? 5 years later and it still hurts my feelings but hey at least you make more money now! :)
Lauren, the dietitian, is very kind and so experienced and knowledgeable. I was struggling as many dietitians only have expertise in ONE thing whereas Lauren has experience in chronic health conditions AND eating disorders. I would highly recommend working with Lauren.
I’ve been to several therapists and never have had such a wonderful experience as here. Edit: 4 years later, I came back to praise R&R even more! After switching providers, I have continued to have an incredible experience. I couldn’t be more grateful for both of my therapists or the practice! Thank you ❤️
Phenomenal service and care! My therapist here really cares and takes their time to help me reach my goals! I am super grateful!!
I have seen a few therapist throughout my adult life but Lisa at rooted and restored has been the most impactful therapist for me. From our first session she gave me tangible exercises that would help me with anxiety right in the moment. I feel each session we make progress on my healing which in turn helps me become a better, happier person. I am so grateful for Lisa!
I really tried giving Rooted and Restored a shot when I began a couple months ago. The most appealing part to working with this office was how fast I could get an appointment. I found most other counseling services booked out for months in advance. The onboarding was easy and fairly intuitive. The price was good, especially since my insurance provider covers it. My only out-of-pocket was $80 per session. I met with Megan, one of their staff therapists for about four sessions and found her helpful. BUT, even though I'd show up five minutes early for all the previous appointments, she was consistently five minutes late in getting me back to her office. I felt our sessions were productive, but will admit that her alarm towards the end of every session kind of nerve-wracking. It's never great hearing an alarm when I'm pouring my heart out. That's not my hang-up though. In the last session, she requested I move my appointment an hour earlier, so I obliged, knowing full well it's a stretch for me to get up there that early. Sadly, I had an awful night of sleep due to some issues we'd been discussing in our sessions. Go figure, I slept through my alarm and I woke up right at my appointment time. That's okay, I figured I could get dressed, and walk to her office in ten minutes, so I'd only be a little late. Now, I would've loved to have had a direct line to her so I could call and let her know I was running behind, but she never provided me with her direct line. So, I got into the lobby while I'm scrambling to open my emails in hopes of contacting her. It was fifteen minutes after the hour, essentially ten minutes later than when she would normally bring me back anyway. And, I'm fully aware that she'd have to charge me whether I show up or not. But, I saw an email from her in my inbox right as I got into the lobby stating that I was a "no show". Thankfully, she had an email signature with her direct line. She'd already closed out my appointment time. According to her, insurance companies prevent her from doing anything less than a fifty-minute session. This is garbage. So, you're going to bill me, but not see me for my remaining time? I don't care if I have five minutes left on the clock, I should have that freedom to use my fifty minutes in how I so choose. It's not like the insurance company is waiting in her office to make sure I get exactly fifty minutes. That's ludicrous. You're not selling cigarettes to a minor here, so quit treating shorter session times like it's an equal offense. I'm madder than a hornet right now and equally disappointed. Rooted and Restored needs to either amend this weird, arbitrary rule or speak with their therapists about being more compassionate and empathetic with their clients. Or, have your client pay out of pocket with no insurance. I would've happily obliged. I should've left their clinic feeling better, instead, I felt far worse and like I've been duped for the past month or so. If a therapist can be late, then so can the client. But, when that scheduled time is up, then all bets are off. I'd own that. Rooted and Restored occupies the entire second floor of their building. When you enter the lobby for the clinic, there's NO receptionist or front desk staff to greet you. Instead, you get a minimalist layout with some fairly worn out chairs, ocean waves blaring through speakers (everywhere, by the way), and no foggy idea if you're where you're supposed to be. That was a HUGE initial turn-off for me. If I'm paying your clinic a premium, then hire someone to greet me when I come in. A little goes a long way, especially when you're in a fairly vulnerable spot anyway. That's why I came to your clinic - for comfort, solace, and a better understanding of how I could cope with my issues. I'd give them a one star, but in all fairness, I enjoyed my sessions with Megan. So, they get another star for her being actually great in our sessions. Heaven forbid if you show up late to your scheduled session, because they'll take your money and give you no service in return. Trash policy.
Was abruptly dropped as a client and the practice waited nine days to even offer referrals. Was such a bad experience it almost deterred me from seeking therapy again.
I am so glad this place was recommended to me! I loved being able to easily communicate through email with Lukas to get established! With my busy schedule I don’t always have time for phone calls. The therapist I was hoping to work with initially wasn’t available but Lukas remembered to follow up with me when she became available! Was very happy and impressed with that! Zaida specifically is who I work with. She has been great so far! She is very understanding, non-judgmental and relatable. I appreciate her sharing personal experiences and stories and examples about herself. This not only helps develop the trust and connection needed for successful therapy, but proves she’s not just saying “I understand” or “I can see where…” when she is able to share first hand experiences or examples. She is very open and encourages feedback to get the most out of your therapy. The environment itself is very comfortable and modern and clean. They have relaxing sounds playing through out. There is plenty of parking.. in a parking lot (not having to park on a street is nice) and it’s free. There is no receptionist so just come in and have a seat in the waiting area. My first visit was soon after they moved to this building and I was looking for a receptionist I assumed I would be checking in with and was wandering the halls but a friendly woman helped me!
This place is the easiest to work with. I work with Nicole and have been for years before she came here. This place is easy to get into and the way they process payment is much easier than any place I have worked with before. Makes it so all I have to focus on his my therapy. <3
Fantastic, non-judgmental environment. I specifically have been working with Stephanie, and she has helped me so much. Overall amazing experience.
