This review is to raise discernment for neurodivergent minds, considering working with anyone on the roster who does not mention it. I hope this review inspires you to make sure you get all the information you need about the EMDR process before committing to a paid session. I hope this review inspires a company that incorporates EMDR into its name to provide accessible information on the 8 phases of EMDR. I trusted Dr. Rebecca Hoffenberg's words, which expressed her confidence in being able to accommodate someone who is neurodivergent; however, after our second session, it was clear her confidence lacked experience or a foundational background to support it. I did not think it was fair after I committed to two sessions and needed more information about the 8 phases of EMDR. I was not okay with taking up any time in my 45-minute session to receive this information, which I believe should be clearly outlined or made available on their website. I was shocked by her resistance to tell me what the 8 phases of EMDR were or to address my question about when we would start the EMDR process. She spent more time deflecting my questions, as opposed to directing me to an article or website that clearly outlines the 8 phases of EMDR, as my incredible ADHD coach directed me to a website within 5 minutes of me sharing my frustration with Dr. Hoffenberg. In the 5 years I've worked with coaches, men’s groups, and therapists, I've never felt so gaslighted in my life by a professional therapist.
As a fellow psychologist, I hold Soho Integrative EMDR in the highest regard. Their team combines clinical expertise with warmth and professionalism, creating a safe and supportive space for deep healing. Their integrative approach is thoughtful and evidence-based, and I have confidently referred patients here knowing they will be in excellent hands.
I cannot say enough about the incredible care and transformative experience I’ve had at this therapy team. From the moment you start, the environment feels welcoming, safe, and deeply supportive—exactly what you need when doing the brave work of healing. The therapists here are not only warm and compassionate but also highly skilled, especially in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It’s clear they’ve had extensive training and experience using this method, and their confidence and calm presence helped me feel completely at ease from our very first session. Before EMDR, I was carrying years of unresolved trauma, anxiety, and patterns I didn’t fully understand. Through this process, I was able to access and reprocess memories in a way that talk therapy alone had never reached. EMDR helped me untangle emotional knots I thought I’d be stuck with forever. I noticed a real shift—reduced anxiety, fewer emotional triggers, and an overall sense of empowerment and peace. What makes this office stand out is how they tailor EMDR to your needs. It’s never rushed or one-size-fits-all. The therapists check in regularly, explain every step, and truly honor your pace. You always feel like a partner in your healing, not just a patient. If you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, PTSD, or even long-standing patterns that feel stuck, I wholeheartedly recommend this practice. EMDR here isn’t just a technique—it’s a path to freedom, guided by therapists who are both clinically sharp and genuinely caring. This has been one of the most powerful and life-affirming experiences of my life.
