The Evolution Group — Counselor in Albuquerque, NM

I have been trying to get in with this clinic since April. They had me fill out intake forms and told me they’d match me with a specialist. I never heard back from them. I tried again last month in August. Same thing, fill out all the intake forms online, called the intake coordinator and she again said she would match me with a specialist and I would get a call back to schedule an appointment. I called several times to see what the hold up was. The receptionist told me that they were held up by verifying my insurance. They do indeed take Cigna. I called a few more times to see if they had figured everything out. The receptionist again said that she couldn’t connect with anyone to verify my insurance. The phone number is IN BACK of the insurance card! I called my insurance for providers myself and got connected to an insurance agent immediately. I called the clinic once again and gave her the number I called to reach someone who could verify my insurance. She took down the number and kept saying she would call me back the next day. I am still waiting for a call back and it’s September. I will obviously not be a patient of theirs which upsets me because my daughter is a patient there with MY insurance and she enjoyed her in-person therapist. The front desk or insurance verification person just dropped the ball twice on me.

I’m new to both The Evolution Group and in-person therapy in general, but so far the experience has been… lovely. The space is like a protective compound of renovated homes with a central peaceful garden and multiple therapy spaces. It feels safe, comfortable, and thoughtful. The staff have made the process simple… like checking into a spa. My therapist, Crystal, is patient, warm, personable, and genuinely listens. I’ve only had 2 sessions, but all of the worry and anxiety of being in a new environment and situation melted away during the first session. We haven’t started the work of therapy just yet, but I’m optimistic about the journey given the amazing start. Update: Seven months later and I'm still very much impressed. Crystal is a wonderful therapist and a beautiful soul. I'll be honest, the first 4 months felt like a rinse and spin cycle. That's just my experience of the process, but the team there made it easy to be a patient. Something strange... that place feels familiar and safe, like going home (in a good way). I continue to refer coworkers here.

Since I started coming to the evolution group it has helped me in so many ways. My therapist has helped me with my life long struggles this is the only group where I feel they truly care for their clients. My therapist is so amazing I always feel great leaving.

I will always be incredibly grateful for my healing journey at The Evolution Group! Amazing counselors and staff,- they are caring, respectful and gracious. I highly recommend them and wouldn't go anywhere else. Even the buildings, grounds and energy are beautiful and healing. I can't say enough positive things about this group!

Having had 4 different therapist in my life I can tell you these folks truly know what they are doing. Daniel has helped me more in the past 6 months than the others had in YEARS. A true understanding of the mind and genuine kindness is what sets the evolution group apart from the rest, and I will always be grateful for the peace of mind I get after a therapy. He makes me feel like a million dollars : )!! Highly recommend them to all of my friends they are so good they often have a waiting list, get on it ASAP!
