Found myself in Las Vegas dealing with a custody case and needed help with temporary housing while in town since I was spending so much on hotels. The VA resource center actually referred me to this place to my disappointment and dismay. The place is a motel building which has been converted into a landing pad for a whole variety of “unhoused” people, the majority of which are recovering" from hardcore drug abuse, a few being brought straight from jail for some reason and as far as I know I was the only veteran referred by the VA. It was a complete nightmare. Ridiculous rules, crazy curfew (and people), half ass "staff" and poorly run overall. While I was grateful for a place to go to save money for a while, I'm shocked and insulted that the VA thinks this is a good fit for veterans needing help with housing. It beats a park bench or the sewer living I heard stories about while here but honestly, if you have ANY other option, TAKE IT AND RUN! Sleep in your car, couch surf, do whatever it takes not to expose yourself to this place unless you literally have no other choice.
I heard from a friend that they help you get a place to stay
THIS IS 'WC-HEALTH' NAVIGATION CENTER! Idk who Michael Chavez is. But, it seems odd to me that this facility is not listed @ all when searching for the place. Nor are the other 'compounds' that they place unfortunate, homeless, mentally challenged &/or special medical needed individuals IN. For a short period of time that is. THIS is only 'phase1'. From here you go to more structured HOUSING!
